Lara C Roll

Dr. Lara C. Roll is a Research Assistant Professor at Lingnan University and a Senior Associate of Psychai Talent Group. Originally from Germany, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at North-West University (South Africa) until August 2019 and continues to be affiliated with their Optentia Research Focus Area as Extraordinary Researcher. She received a Ph.D. in work and organizational psychology as a Hong Kong Ph.D. fellowship recipient from Lingnan University, a master’s degree from the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands) and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Bern (Switzerland). Her current research examines cross-cultural influences of job insecurity and the impact of technological advancements on the future of occupations. She is presently leading a 10-country project on job insecurity in higher education and acting as project manager for an 11-country study on student wellbeing. In the beginning of 2019, she was an Academic Visitor at the University of Oxford, resulting in an ongoing research collaboration with the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing. She further has consulting experience across the USA, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. She is serving on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Engineering Business Management and as ad-hoc reviewer for the International Journal of Stress Management, the Psychology of Human Resources Journal, the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology and SAGE Open.
