Nikki James

Nikki James is a doctoral student at The University of Liverpool in the UK. In July 2020, Nikki James successfully defended her thesis dissertation focused on examining how the integration of emerging technologies and learning science can augment the teaching and learning process in experiential and constructive learning environments.

Since completing her thesis Nikki James has accepted the role of Research Associate at Northeastern University in Boston, USA. Northeastern University is a top 50 research institution in the USA and is known for its experiential learning programs. Nikki's role as a research associate is with a Learning Science research team. In this role, Nikki works alongside learning scientists, economists, design-based educational researchers, policymakers, teachers, and administrators to implement innovative educational interventions that aim to broaden participation in experiential learning for non-traditional and underrepresented minority students.

A specific focus of the research team is the implementation of technology to support virtual work-based and experiential learning in STEM education at both the high school and undergraduate level.
