weekly retro #61: happy easter, xbox
sometimes my menstrual cycle really is on my team, because the few days ahead of it i feel invincible and i needed that with all the social activities i had going into the week.
monday night as my first time this year hosting - the blizzard kept me home from january's. it's alway energizing and inspiring to be at wonderville, and this night's crowd was amazing.
we had friends from out of town show up, people i'd not seen in years who moved away but then moved back...the community was on the best frequency. our next show is a a special tax night event at caveat that i hope to see some of you's at on 4/15.
our buddies at smooth technology had an april fools party in another inspiring space - their own office. it's basically a reunion of everyone who has ever collaborated with anyone at the company, and our pal damon tends the robot bartender. the night after, i finally got a break from having to cross state lines and socialize because jerseyscript was within walking distance. one of the attendees gave a great mini-talk to the table about tips he picked up from his recent, successful job search.
it as a lot more technological, this week, than usual but it wasn't without my ceramics practice. we learned to attach stacked pieces and i threw a few more pieces on the side. there's only a few more classes left this semester, and i'm going to miss the last one for a work trip, so i'll be more focused on trimming and glazing for the next couple of weeks until my next course which i'm very excited about. on the topic of art, i little art blogged about some very good neon, and i think i'm going to get back into neon after seeing a class coming up that is very cool and multi-media.
last night it was back to to the city (you're welcome, port authority treasurer) to see mark's newest show, mark vigeant: out there. he and his team did such a great job, i'm so stoked for them.
today the weather was gloomy, which was great because i absolutely did not want to leave the house anyway. the cramps caught up to me as my period began, and i'm lucky to not have to do anything really the next 48 hours. it gives me extra time to cuddle pumagreg, as he goes into surgery this week. i'm starting to get very anxious about it, but i know it will go fine and he'll be back to hopping for treats in no time.
things i enjoyed this week
- here's a good mix that got me through cleaning sessions at home
- the artemis ii launch was so awesome to watch online! nasa has a livestream with continuous coverage, which sometimes includes watching and doing q&a's with the crew. as i type this, they are just about 48,000 miles close to the moon and 227,000 miles away from earth.
- seeing so many of my creative tech friends across different events. the web feels like it's dying but we're still making and sharing stuff!
i'm going to spend the rest of the night cleaning so that when pumagreg is at the vet i'll perhaps not have anything to anxiety-clean and will make some art instead.
