Is Qoheleth a title or a name? Whether title or name, it carries meaning: "the Preacher." I chose this pseudonym as a former preacher. Preaching was the only part of being a pastor wherein I was proficient. These shifts reflect the dynamic nature of my spiritual experiences: - "I" often represents my present or future-aspiring self, expressing determination and purpose. - "Me" typically reflects my present-past reflective self, contemplating my experiences and identity. - "You" can be a directive to God, to myself in a more authoritative voice, or to you, the reader. For example, in "Unwilling To Yield," I write: "Stay open to me, so that I and you can continue spreading all the parts. I need you to be that to you, of course, is unknown To the strength you humbly own to yourselves." This sentence encapsulates the complex interplay between these perspectives. I moved around a lot but mainly I grew up in the Southern California area where I attended eight different elementary and middle schools. We ended up in Thousand Oaks CA with a population of 38,000. It was paradise for a young teen. Like most teens in the area, Surfing, Moto Cross, street sports, and hiking was my life. In 1974 I graduated from high school and spent several years working here and there without much direction. I also attended Moorpark Junior College. In 1978 I became a Submariner in the Navy from where I retired. At Moorpark and the Navy, I began to develop some self-esteem. I forgot to mention that my father really didn’t think I was his and he treated so. I found later in life by ways of a DNA test that I was his. While in the Navy I discovered I had this odd talent in what we call Information Technology today. It just came naturally. So, since 1978 I’ve been working in the technology sector in one way or another. Today, I live in Colorado and yeah, I work in technology.
