Ana Luísa Soares Holder of a degree and a doctorate in Landscape Architecture at Technical University of Lisbon’s School of Agriculture.
Assistant Professor in the School of Agriculture’s Department of Natural Resources, Environment and Territory (DRAT/ISA/ULisboa). Professor in the scientific area of Landscape Architecture, coordinating the following course units: Vegetation Applied to Landscape Architecture Project, Vegetation in Urban Spaces and Computer Assisted Design. Since 2009 integrate the Landscape Architecture and Urban Ecology doctorate program as professor at this doctoral program link between Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto Universities.
Has held the several academic management posts, to highlight: member of the School’s Scientific Council since 2022; from 2017 to 2022 coordinator of the Master Course in Landscape Architecture; from 2018 to 2022 member of the Educational Council; Since 2016, she belong to the Management Commission Member of Botanical Gardens of the University of Lisbon (as landscape architecture curator of Jardim Botânico de Lisboa and Jardim Botânico Tropical). from 2014 to 2018 member of the Scientific Council; from 2009 to 2014 Vice-President of the Management Council, in charge of physical assets heritage (buildings and gardens). Since 2019 she is the director of Jardim Botânico da Ajuda (Instituto Superior de Agronomia, Universidade de Lisboa). In September 2022 she has been appointed Pro-Rector of University of Lisbon (https://www.ulisboa.pt/membro-equipa/ana-luisa-soares).
Since 1998, researcher at the Centre for Applied Ecology "Prof. Baeta Neves" (CEABN) is a research centre within the School of Agriculture, University of Lisbon. Presently CEABN integrates the Associated Laboratory InBIO: Biodiversity and Evolutive Biology Research Network, in partnership with CIBIO, a research centre from the University of Porto. Currently coordinator of the Ecological Design and Landscape Architecture research at CEABN.

O índice de Lisboa só inclui jardins e parques públicos a cargo da Câmara Municipal de Lisboa (CML), porque são estes que oferecem recreio e estadias à população e para os quais a autarquia investe em manutenção, restauro e vigilância.
É intenção deste trabalho apresentar valores das áreas arborizadas de Lisboa obtidos de fontes seguras e informação quantificada, para reduzir o efeito perverso da informação subjectiva que serve por vezes os defensores do ambiente mas que também contra eles se vira por falta de rigor e precisão. Será também apresentada a evolução dos movimentos internacionais que foram introduzindo ao longo da história o “verde” na cidade e a forma como influenciaram o construir da cidade de Lisboa. Para esta serão apresentadas as espécies arbóreas de arruamento que foram sendo usadas desde 1929 e que constituem a massa de árvores que faz parte da vivência da cidade e da sua imagem.
