The Power of Presence Workshop, Where we will:

David Rolle is a celebrated Bahamian fashion designer and stylist. His work captures the vibrant essence of island life through a luxurious, contemporary lens. Born and raised in the Berry Islands—an idyllic chain in The Bahamas with a population of fewer than 1,000—David’s upbringing in a modest, bustling home with six brothers instilled in him both resilience and creativity. The textures, colors, and energy of his childhood remain central to his design language today.
In 2010, David made his runway debut at Islands of the World Fashion Week, unveiling his first collection and introducing the fashion world to RAPHELITA, a brand named in honor of his late great grand mother. This moment marked the beginning of his professional journey and the birth of a brand rooted in culture, storytelling, and Caribbean elegance.
RAPHELITA soon found its identity in high-end resort wear, merging traditional island influences with modern sophistication. David’s work stands out for its bold silhouettes, vibrant prints, and effortless glamour—an authentic reflection of island life elevated for the global stage.
Recognition followed quickly. After receiving the NexGen Designer Award in 2011, David was granted the opportunity to study at Parsons The New School in New York City. There, he completed a summer program with honors, refining his technical skill set while exploring the intersection of fashion and global design trends.
In 2013, David took his talents to reality television, competing in the regional fashion competition Mission Catwalk. His charisma, craftsmanship, and unique perspective propelled him to a top-two finish. He returned for the All Stars season in 2015, ultimately taking the crown. His winning collection showcased his signature “tropical luxe” aesthetic—cementing his place as a designer to watch in the Caribbean fashion scene.
Following his television success, David became a regular fixture on prestigious runways throughout the Caribbean and the U.S. His work has been featured at New York Fashion Week, The Collection Moda (Jamaica), Summer Sizzle BVI (British Virgin Islands), and the Guyana Fashion Showcase in New York, Atlanta, and Guyana.
Beyond his own label, David played a significant role in shaping another iconic Bahamian brand: Harl Taylor BAG. Initially brought on as a consultant, he later became the brand’s Creative Director in 2018. Under his guidance, the brand evolved with refined elegance while maintaining its artisanal roots. His signature designs for Harl Taylor have traveled the globe, carried by private clients and tastemakers who appreciate craftsmanship and cultural integrity.
David Rolle is more than a designer—he is a storyteller, cultural ambassador, and creative visionary. His designs speak of home, heritage, and a deep love for the Caribbean. Whether dressing clients for international jet-setting or island celebrations, his goal remains the same: to celebrate beauty, boldness, and Bahamian excellence.
As he continues to grow his brand, David remains grounded in his roots. Living and working in The Bahamas, he draws daily inspiration from the natural paradise around him—proving that world-class fashion can rise from even the smallest of islands.
