Lilliput Libraries

Please welcome these two wonderful Lilliput Libraries to the Lilliput whanau. They’re both located in Tuatapere, Southland and are on site at the Waiau Town & Country Club 41 King St, Tuatapere and 18 Orawia Rd – along from the service station at Tuatapere. Gail Egerton is the Guaridan of Lilliput Libraries 387 and 388. Thanks Gail for setting these up.

Please welcome Lilliput Library 386 to the Lilliput whanau. This gorgeous Lilliput is located at 7 Puddle Alley Road, Mosgiel. Its Guardians are Gaylene and her daughter Emma. Gaylene’s father passed away in November, he used to be in charge of the Gore Pakeke Lions book sale and was a very keen gardener. Emma wanted to do something to remember him by and she is an avid reader too. so she painted this Lilliput which her Dad made. The cat is Muggles.

Please welcome Lilliput Library 385 to our Lilliput whanau. Rachael Mills is the new Guardian of this Lilliput at 27 Titri Road, Waihola, Otago. The artwork is Rachael’s as well. Lovely having you join us Rachael.

Please welcome Lilliput Library 384 to the Lilliput whanau. This cutie, (colours chosen by Guardian Jan’s 3 year old grandaughter) is on site on the corner of Rivervale Grove and Blue Heron Rise, Stanmore Bay, Whangaparaoa, Auckland. Built by Jan’s son in law it looks very dashing and has a heap of books waiting for readers. Lovely to have you join us Jan and family.

Please welcome Lilliput Libraries 382 and 383 to the Lilliput whanau. Brigitte Jorgensen is the artist and Guardian for both Lilliputs. They are located at Bob’s Cove and Closeburn, Queenstown. Check out our map at lilliput-libraries.netlify.app.

Please welcome Guardian Rachel Rohloff and her Lilliput Library 381 to the Lilliput whanau. Rachel emailed, “I finally have my little Lilliput library, at Lake Ōkareka, up and running as of today! It’s just outside the Lake Ōkareka community Hall. I received permission from the local community council and the manager of the hall, so all good.

My Dad, Murray Rohloff, who lives in Alexandra in Otago, built it, he couriered it up to me up here in Lake Okareka (near Rotorua) and I have had a lovely time painting it up.

It’s full of books and ready for the locals and holiday makers to use… I think there will be lots of happy people on the beach here at the lake this summer! Lots of lovely stories for a very ‘storybook’ lake setting. “

Please welcome Lilliput Library number 379. This Lilliput is located at Halfway Bush School, 54 Ashmore St, Dunedin. Lizzie Kennedy and family are the Guardians. Welcome to the fabulous world of Lilliput Libraries Lizzie.

Please welcome Lilliput Library 378. It’s located in Balfour, Northern Southland. You’ll find it on Queen St in the Balfour playground. We’re so pleased to add you to the Lilliput Library whanau.

Please welcome our newest Lilliput Library. The Guardians are the Thames Museum Society. Lilliput # 377 is located on the porch of the Thames Museum, corner Pollen and Cochrane Streets, Thames. Carolyn says, “It’s tiny, so we’ll see how it goes and get a bigger one further down the track.” We’re so very happy to have you join the Lilliput Library whanau.

We have a new Lilliput Library and Guardian to welcome to the Lilliput whanau. Guardian Carolyn Brakenrig says, “The box was made to a Lilliput design and was a birthday present which I have now decorated, installed and set up and our neighbourhood is enjoying the books. My address is 217 Tukere Drive Whangamata.” WELCOME Carolyn. It’s terrific having a Lilliput Library in Whangamata.

Please welcome our newest Lilliput Library #375. This gorgeous Hobbit themed Lilliput Library is located at 566 Brighton Road, Westwood, Dunedin. Katie is the Guardian and she’s filled it with books. The wonderful art work is by Sarah Marshall. Go take a look, find a book and drop one off too when you’re next passing.

Please welcome Lilliput Library 374 and its Guardians, the Butson Family.

Dave Butson says, “the kids and I built this from an old pallet, beer crates and some corrugated iron from an old dog kennel. The fabulous artwork was done by our friends Luisa from Germany and Feli from Argentina. We put this out today fully stocked with books at the end of our driveway.” Location is at the intersection of “Von Loop Road” and Mt Nicholas-Beach Bay Road” on the Around the Mountain cycle trail.

WOW how about this for a big Lilliput Library. Isn’t it gorgeous. Please welcome LL373 to the whanau. This latest Lilliput has children’s books on the bottom shelf, is located at 16 Finlayson St, Whangarei and is being cared for under the Guardianship of Lee Holdaway.

Our newest Lilliput is no. 372 and is located at 14 Glenbrook Drive, Mosgiel. Thanks to Emma Potton, the Guardian, for creating such a gorgeous Lilliput Library. Welcome to the Lilliput Library whanau Emma.
