What should I know about the library building?

  • Study spaces are available throughout the building. Floors 3 and 5 are silent study floors.
  • Study rooms can be booked up to 1 week in advance.
  • Computers are available on a first come first serve basis in the back of floors 1, 2, and 3, plus a few on floor 5 near study rooms 508 and 509.
  • Printer/photocopier/scanners are on every floor. See floor maps for exact locations.
  • There are 3 all-gender, accessible washrooms on floor 4. There is one all-gender, accessible washroom with a change table on floor 2.

We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Library Code of Conduct to learn how you can help make the Library a respectful and welcoming space for everyone.

Can I eat in the library?

  • Light snacks (i.e. granola bars, fruit, vegetables, muffins, yogurt, etc.) and covered drinks are permitted at study desk and tables in the Library.
  • You can eat other food in the seating area in the tunnel just outside the floor 1 library entrance.
  • The Page Break cafe (Bridgehead) is located on floor 2.

How do I access books and other items in the collection?

  • See Borrowing for information on searching and requesting items, as well as how many items you can borrow and for how long
  • To figure out where to look for an item on the shelf, see our Call Number System help guide and which call numbers are on each floor
  • Limited print reserves are available at the Library Services Desk. Please access course reserves through Ares or Brightspace.
  • Return borrowed library materials to one of our returns bins located on Library Road, Tunnel entrance, or Level 2 main entrance.
