Effects of Multiple Deployments on the Rate of PTSD in Combat Veterans

With the Global War on Terrorism entering its twelfth year, increasing numbers of soldiers are de... more With the Global War on Terrorism entering its twelfth year, increasing numbers of soldiers are deploying to Combat Theaters of Operation for multiple rotations. With major Theaters in Iraq and Afghanistan, soldiers across all components are experiencing the burden of multiple combat tours. Studies are needed to address the effects of multiple deployments on the rate of PTSD in Combat Veterans. The present study looks at these effects across all components with alarming results indicated by the research found. Attention is given to addressing potential and perceived barriers to care as well as an exploration for further research and education. An incorporation of a Biblical Worldview assessment is also discussed as it relates to the subject matter of the study.
