Hakan Sonmez

Hakan currently serves as a Product Strategy and Operations Manager at IBM’s Edge Computing and SDN business unit. His focus areas are Edge computing, Hybrid Multi-Cloud Networking and applying AI/ML to multi-cloud operations. He works closely with IBM technical leadership on the Open Horizon project of LF Edge. Previously, he was a lead consultant at IBM Corporate Strategy team.

Prior to IBM, Hakan held various technology roles in Networking and Telco industry, including Cisco Systems, Airvana Networks, Sycamore Networks and NextWave Wireless.

Hakan holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Middle East Technical University, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University, and an MBA degree from MIT Sloan School of Management.

Jason Shepherd

Jason Shepherd is widely-recognized as a thought leader in edge computing and IoT, having spent a third of his twenty-five year career in the space. He has held various executive leadership roles spanning R&D to sales and commercialization, delivering edge and IoT solutions to customers in verticals such as manufacturing, energy, smart buildings, retail and transportation. Prior to Atym, Jason was VP of Ecosystem at the edge orchestration company ZEDEDA and he previously served as CTO for Dell Technologies’ Edge and IoT business. He has worked closely with the Linux Foundation for close to ten years and has a strong track record of fostering standards and open source communities. He holds over 40 granted and pending US patents.

Erik Nordmark

Erik is a member of the LF Edge Technical Advisory Committe, a member of the Internet Architecture Board, and the Chief Architect at ZEDEDA. He has designed and implemented substantial parts of the EVE implementation in LF Edge. He is an expert on architecting and implementing secure large scale software systems, with a deep understanding of the implications of the Internet on system design. Prior to joining ZEDEDA he was developing software at Arista Networks, architecting the evolution of core software as a Cisco Distinguished Engineer, and earlier had a long and varied career as a Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems. Erik has been involved in standardization in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) since the very early days of IPv6 and continues to drive IoT-related issues in the IETF and IAB. Erik holds over 29 US parents, and has a Technical Licentiate degree from Uppsala University and a MS from Stanford University.
