Creative Change-Making as a Practice
Leyla’s approach combines many fields of science with systems thinking and design to create immersive experiences, interactive installations, experiential education and playful creative thinking toolkits.
Leyla has initiated several organisations and projects to help agitate and activate change by engaging more people with the pressing issues of our day in creative and achievable ways.
Many of her projects have won awards, been selected for display in cultural institutions and have been used by leading organisations around the world.

Anatomy of Action
In collaboration with the United Nations, this evidence-based creative campaign is used worldwide to activate sustainable living and lifestyles. This multi-pronged project covers social media, video, web, and research output as a data validation report. With the toolkit and assets, individuals are encouraged to join the “15 Ways in 15 Days Take Action Challenge” to spread the word and activate others in their sphere of influence.

Eco Innovators
For over a decade, Eco Innovators pioneered unique ways of creating educational experiences that activate social and environmental change. Based in Australia and founded in 2009, Eco Innovators developed and launched a host of projects that helped jump-start and integrate sustainability into design practice. A trailblazing creative agency, it was one of the first initiatives of its kind to actively demonstrate how design approaches could be used as tools for sustainability education.

In 2017, Leyla took on an ambitious project to restore and regenerate an abandoned farm and olive mill to become a living learning lab and brain spa in Central Portugal. The CO Project ran a variety of outreach and engagement projects such as single and multi-day learning experiences that offered compelling immersive experiences into rural regeneration and sustainable lifestyles, all with a Portuguese flavor. In keeping with the social enterprise model, the last Sunday of every month offered a by-donation community open day, which each year saw over 500 people visit the rural part of Portugal to learn more.
