Trade fee?A domain owner change requires a signed form to be delivered to the register by the current subscriber and electronic acceptance of the assignment by the new subscriber. We will provide the details once the owner change is initiated. The domain owner change does not extend its validity.

Transfer fee?The domain transfer is different depending on the current domain registrar. In the case of RU-CENTER, it requires approval by the domain subscriber. For other registrars, it will be required to obtain an authinfo code. The domain transfer name does not extend its validity.

Reactivation fee?Additional restore fee is due on the domain renewal date (6 days before expiration date). Restore is possible only within 0 days thereafter.

In connection with Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions introduced from March 2022 until further notice, we do not offer new .ru domain registrations or transfers. Renewals of domains registered so far will be processed as long as it is possible.

.ru domains are available to all interested parties without restrictions.
Persons running a business, companies or organization, are required to submit an electronic version of the company’s registration document. We then send this document to the register on behalf of the client.
Natural persons are required to provide their date of birth and send a scan of the passport containing the name of its holder before registering the domain.
Registering a .ru domain is tantamount to accepting the registration regulations issued by the registry.
Registration rules, manual verification, and lifecycle
Registering a .ru domain involves specific administrative criteria defined by Russian registry regulations:

Strict naming restrictions & verification: verification documents are mandatory. Individual registrants must provide a copy of their national ID card or passport, while corporate registrants must submit an electronic scan of their official company registration certificate (sent to [email protected]).

Manual registration time: domain processing requires manual document verification by the registry before activation, typically completed once valid identification is received.

Simple domain transfers: domain transfers vary by current provider. Transfers from RU-CENTER require approval from the domain subscriber, whereas other registrars require an AuthInfo code. A domain transfer does not extend the domain's expiration date.

Owner change policy: updating domain ownership (Trade) requires a signed authorization form submitted by the current subscriber to the registry, alongside electronic acceptance from the new subscriber. The owner change process does not extend domain validity.

Expiration & restore period: an additional restore fee is due on the domain renewal date (which occurs 6 days prior to the official expiration date). Restoration is permitted only within 0 days thereafter.

Lifecycle terms: the minimum registration and renewal period is 1 year.
