.eco domain information
The .eco domain extension is a trusted, community-backed top-level domain designed for environmental organizations, green businesses, sustainability advocates, clean energy companies, and eco-conscious brands. Backed by environmental groups and supported by global conservation organizations (including the WWF), a .eco web address serves as an instant mark of commitment to planetary health, green practices, and sustainable development.
Restrictions on a .eco domain
All .eco domains will be initially registered with a ServerHold status. Registrants will need to create an .eco profile at profiles.eco in order to activate the domain. After a registrant successfully registered a domain, the registry will send an email from [email protected] with the following Subject: "Activate{Domain}.eco". Once the registrant answered a few questions and created the .eco profile, the ServerHold status will be removed and the registrant will be able to use the domain.
