Des Carnets de recherche à la MMSH

Dès les débuts de la plateforme Hypothèses, des carnets de veille, des carnets de chercheur, des carnets d’accompagnement de thèse, d’ANR, etc. ont été ouverts par des membres de la Maison méditerranéenne des sciences de l’homme (MMSH). Le nombre de carnetiers rattachés à la MMSH a cru avec le développement d’Hypothèses. Depuis janvier, grâce au soutien de la région PACA, c’est un pas de plus qui a été franchi avec la naissance du portail des carnets de recherche de la MMSH, présenté publiquement le 12 avril 2012.

L’évolution de la relation entre la MMSH et Hypothèses est représentative de l’évolution de la relation entre communauté académique et blogging scientifique. La création de ce portail manifeste la volonté de la MMSH de mettre en lumière les nouvelles pratiques de production et de communication scientifiques déjà adoptées par certains chercheurs, doctorants et personnels de la recherche qui lui sont affiliés. Le portail des carnets de recherche de la MMSH est également un moyen d’identification prometteur : il permet à la communauté des carnetiers de la MMSH de se connaître, de se lire, de se rencontrer et, à terme, sans doute, de collaborer. Par la création de ce portail, l’institution contribue donc à consolider, avec l’accord des carnetiers concernés, ce qui existe déjà, le donnant à voir et l’appuyant, et souligne aussi son soutien à l’innovation en matière d’écriture scientifique.

Quatre ans après la naissance d’Hypothèses, nous sommes donc bien loin des débuts du blogging scientifique lorsque sa légimité était à prouver. Intégré désormais aux pratiques individuelles et collectives des chercheurs et des doctorants, à celles des centres de documentation, des revues ou des bibliothèques, le carnet de recherche est un espace particulièrement malléable dont la simplicité et le peu de limites techniques et éditoriales permettent d’abriter une multitude de pratiques très évolutives. Les pratiques déjà instaurées, courantes dans l’Hyposphère, et définies dans le catalogue d’Hypothèses, constituent des repères utiles susceptibles d’être en permanence réélaborés pour donner place à des expériences originales. La croissance de la plateforme avec ses actuels 394 carnets est également un signe de son adoption. Le carnet de recherche est donc entré dans le quotidien de nombreux membres de la communauté scientifique, qui travaillent ainsi à la reconnaissance du blogging comme activité scientifique à part entière.

Ainsi, avec ce portail, la MMSH inaugure une articulation institutionnelle de nouvelle nature : elle amplifie la visibilité de ses chercheurs et des carnets de recherche, moyen de communication direct et décentralisé déjà utilisé par la communauté scientifique qui lui est rattachée.
