I had a nice weekend. Yesterday morning I lead a hike with a few members of my group for older lesbians around Greenbelt Lake a couple of times. Then we had lunch at the Silver Diner. I was wiped and achy for the rest of the day and was just lazy.
I took another walk around the lake today and then zlabya and I went to see The Queen of Katwe, a sweet uplifting film about a girl of Katwe, a slum of Kampala, Uganda, who becomes a chess champion. Formula upward mobility tale, excepting its not about white men, and nicely done, and what a beautiful new actress for the lead, Madina Nalwanga, and with the gorgeous Lupita Nyong'o as her mother.
So here's pics I took the last couple of days, if you'd like to come along:
Just a couple of trees are turning so far, and this is one.
Happy Birthday, lbilover!!!!! I hope it is a wonderful one, my friend! I bring you turtles (various sliders and snappers) and wood ducks from Greenbelt Lake to help you celebrate. May your year be full of love and happiness.
A very happy birthday to dear mews1945!!! I hope today is filled with love and all good things and that you feel a little stronger each day. Here are some pretties and fuzzies from around Greenbelt Lake, and thereabouts for you.

A deer in the woods behind my apartment building who was very fascinated by my talking to him in baby talk--so many critters seem to just love that.
A squirrel by the lake feasting at a lakeside house's yard where they put out bird seed.
It's unusually warm today for March--upper 70's. So when I took a walk around Greenbelt Lake on my lunch break, I expected I'd see these guys emerge:
But I didn't expect to see this adorable garter snake already in the season:

A very happy birthday to mews1945!!! For your birthday, Saki has decided to deliver herself to you.
SAKI: I'm all bagged up and ready to visit Mews. It's kind of weird, though, that I'm in a bag and can still see you. It's like I'm in the Bag World. And you must be a Bagwraith.
Thank you. I don't think it's long enough to be a book yet, but am proud you think it interesting enough to be one. I was thinking of dividing these 5 posts into smaller chunks and putting them up…
