In this month of the sign of Cancer the Crab, a very happy birthday to my favorite Maryland crab, mews1945! :-D *squooshes you*
I took a detour on my way up to feeding my feral cat friend on the eastern shore last week and went out to Primehook Beach on the Delaware Bay inlet for an hour of pretty beach walking. And in honor of mews1945's birthday, I have a horsehoe crab story.
I've seen a lot of horseshoe crabs on Atlantic beaches, and this one was really covered with them, but all the ones I've seen were dead and dried, washed up on the beach. This one, however, was trucking her way down the beach from the high tide line down to the water. ( More Horseshoe Crab Journey below . . .Collapse )
Happy Birthday, annwyn55!!! I hope you have a lovely celebration!!! And here's Bingo and Sam on Tol Eressea to celebrate it with a double drabble for you. This pic was taken at sunset at Delaware State Seashore last October--yes the sea really was that color! Click on it to embiggen.
Title: More Sand Pairing: F/S Rating: PG Fluff Disclaimer: Just borrowing J.R.R. Tolkien's hobbits for the shear pleasure of it. And I'd never sell them; I'd keep them if I could.
For lbilover, who I hope gets a moment to celebrate today. Lots of love and hope coming your way! *hugs*
These hobbits living on Tol Eressea were going to bake you a cake, Ellen, but they got distracted. And yes, of course, there would be t-shirts and jeans on the Lonely Isle. It wouldn't be the Blessed Lands if every fabric was not wrinkle-free, now would it?
Thank you. I don't think it's long enough to be a book yet, but am proud you think it interesting enough to be one. I was thinking of dividing these 5 posts into smaller chunks and putting them up…
