TODAY SUCKS.
[edit: the only thing that can improve today is Coakley winning. If I get a fucking republican representing me in the Senate on top of the rest of today, I will just... I don't even know. Yes, yes first world problems I AM STILL SAD.]
So... it looks like I can probably mostly do my job while listening to things that aren't just music. HOW DEPRESSING. But I might as well make the most of it, yeah? I used to be very into podcasts, but I've fallen off. Please give me audio suggestions! i'm a NPR junkie, but listening to it for 8 hours a day makes me a bit weird, so I need to break it up. Did one of you link to some free sherlock holmes audio recordings? Podcasts! podfic! (so much podfic is in the big fandoms that i don't follow... very unfortunate.)
In happy news, New Jersey is the 14th Medical Marijuana state! Corzine signed it yesterday! Yay!
So I've been continuing to fret about the idea that Vividcon might get scheduled for August 8th weekend, when I need to be a maid of honor. I have decided two things
- I am just going to make a club vivid vid anyway, not that i was seriously considering not doing it just because I might not be able to go
- If VVC is that weekend... Unless the wedding needs me, I will just go to Chicago before the con and hang out. I showed up on wednesday last year and had a grand time. I can visit with my Chicago girls, and hopefully there will be as many people there on thursday as there were yesterday. Depending on the wedding needs, maybe I could stay for the friday day time panels, then fly back to Boston. It's weird, but I desperately want to see VVC people. And seriously, if there is a UK con, I will consider it.
And related to that, I don't know what to vid for club vivid, I just know I want to make a dancey vid. SO FLIST PLEASE HELP ME and throw lots of songs at me, and I'll listen to them on loop until I get some idea. And I'll credit you and bake you a cake if I use your idea. :-)
I find I don't mind delays in putting out the kickstarted content as long as they communicate. I backed the Earthdawn 4E book and it's been in limbo for several months. We got our first update in a…
That sounds interesting. I recently bought the first book released by Big Bang Press, which was crowdfunded (I didn't participate, but that's how I first heard of the project), so I might find other…
