Quick update.

Posted in Uncategorized on February 27, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

I’m still gonna post the content that I from reviews to YouTube videos. But I’m gonna add something new. I’ve always been fascinated by unsolved cases. Maybe it’s the writer in me letting my imagination run away with me.

There’s a ton of blogs and sites for that. My writing won’t be as polished as I write fiction and movie reviews and essays. But I think I can do just good enough on the true crime. Mainly just the facts of the case, theories and I’ll chime in some of my thoughts.

I’m currently working on something. Can be ready in a day or 2. Perhaps a year. Basically there’s no timetable. As for how much I’ll post about unsolved cases. That will also vary. My main focus is film. So basically I might post unsolved crimes a couple of times a week then nothing for months. It’ll all vary.

But I should have something coming soon. I always wanted this blog to be more than just 1 genre of film. More than just film which is why I have some book/comic reviews as well. It’s far easier to post the unsolved crimes here than create a new page.

So yeah the unsolved crime posts won’t be as polished as other writings. But as long as it’s decent and gets the job done. That’s fine with me.

Thanks!

What an absolutely weird yet awesome commercial. Plus a bonus commercial.

If I liked your content check your spam comments Part 2 an update.

Posted in Uncategorized on February 14, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

I’m still not able to comment on posts without them going to spam. Only comments I can make on other pages are from people that saw my post about that. I never had this issue was I was active on WordPress. But after an 11-year hiatus, I thought maybe that was the issue and the more I post here that’ll fix itself. Only it didn’t.

Maybe in the 11-year gap I was hacked? After I stepped away I was gone. I didn’t login even once. But upon my return I did see oddly enough a spam comment asking if I’ve had an issue with hacking.

I tried to contact WordPress. Talk about being absolutely freaking useless.

So anyone out there. If I liked your posts. Good chance I also left you a comment. Just check spam. I gotta figure this out as it’s very irritating.

Here’s the email reply I got from WordPress which was just computer written.

ABC Movie: Friday the 13th Part 3 commercial breaks and bumpers

Posted in Friday the 13th TV Promos, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on February 12, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

This aired in October of 1987 for Halloween week. So I guess it aired prime time.

But how about we make it the late movie for nostalgia purposes? Start this one between 11:30PM-1AM. Since not only are there commercial breaks but bumpers as well. Watch the movie. Pause. Watch the commercials. When the bumper comes on. Start the movie again and repeat until the film and commercials are over. May not be ideal but a way in a sense to travel back to the 1980s.

Special shoutout to the YouTube channel this awesome video.

R.I.P James Van Der Beek

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , on February 11, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

Tragically James Van Der Beek has passed away from cancer today at the age of 48. I loved the first couple of seasons of Dawson’s Creek. I’ve seen him in a couple of other things but it’s mainly DC.

R.I.P. Dawson Leery.

I love 4k but I kinda hate it sometimes.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on February 10, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

I’ve seen videos where people had issues with 4k and playback. I’ve had my own issues with playback, which is why it’s always welcome when a blu-ray is included.

I’m not entirely sure exactly how many movies I have on 4k. But a fair amount. While issues are only a few discs but it’s a few too many.

I had issues with Tenebre. Freezes up but I can skip past then rewind a bit and only miss a couple of seconds. Suspiria briefly freezes for like a second. Both from Synapse.

Death Wish 3 skips like a second. Revenge of the Ninja freezes up. Both Kino Lorber.

Pale Rider from WB towards the end the picture gets heavily distorted for a couple of seconds.

It’s all very frustrating. The price for a TV, player and the discs. There shouldn’t be one single issue. Sometimes it can be the player even if a good player. Back in the days of DVD. I had a few discs that wouldn’t play on a more expensive model yet played on a cheap 70$ player.

When these issues arise it really makes me put heavy consideration into streaming moving forward.

Siskel & Ebert Review Friday the 13th Part 2

Posted in Friday the 13th Part 2: Siskel & Ebert Review, Uncategorized with tags , , , , on February 5, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

I know I said this before in another post but Siskel & Ebert have their fans but I find them a bunch of stuck up blowhards. Friday the 13th Part 2 (or any of the films) aren’t meant to be an Oscar contender. They’re meant to just be fun with some scares here and there. Seeing as the series started in 1980 and is still relevant. The filmmakers did something right.

ABC Tuesday Night Movie: Crowhaven Farm FULL MOVIE

Posted in Crowhaven Farm full 1970s TV Horror Film, Uncategorized with tags , , , , on February 3, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

Very solid made for TV horror film. The 1970s was truly the golden era for made for TV horror films.

I also posted commercial blocks from the 1970s. Let’s kind of recreate the Movie of the Week. Just the poverty way.

Thanks to the YouTube channels this content.

Halloween II. TV Promo

Posted in Halloween Series TV and Cable Promos, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on January 31, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

I just love finding these network TV promos. I found quite a few that I’ll share. Ac without these YouTube channels these would be lost in time. So give the video a like.

Friday the 13th Part 2. HBO Promo from 1982

Posted in Friday the 13th TV Promos, Uncategorized with tags , , on January 30, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

I just love finding these promos for when Friday the 13th (or about any horror film) aired on network TV or cable TV in particular HBO and so forth.

I mean it’s more or less the TV spot but something just hits differently. On USA, TNT. They play more up to camp value which is fine but I prefer the more straight approach like network and HBO. A little of both isn’t a bad thing though.

Friday the 13th Part 2 Japanese Trailer

Pretty cool trailer even if it’s not the different than the North American trailer and or TV spot. But maybe it’s me but a little creepier?

Psycho IV: The Beginning

Posted in Psycho IV: The Beginning, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on January 28, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

Psycho IV: The Beginning

The 4th and final film of the original series delves into Norman’s traumatic upbringing. Despite being written by Joseph Stefano the writer of the original there are some minor inaccuracies with the original film. Anthony Perkins reprises his iconic role for the last time in the sequel parts. Henry Thomas plays the role of younger Norman Bates and does a solid job, but living up to Perkins is no easy task. Psycho IV should also be seen more as tying in with the original instead of Psycho 2-3. There’s no direct mentions of those, but there is a mention of murders from a few years ago. But still, Psycho IV while can tie into Psycho 2-3, but should still be seen as only being directly tied to the original. Psycho IV was made for TV (Showtime) and overall it’s another worthy addition to the series. While most prequels offer very little, but Psycho IV does have a reason to exist outside of just being able to. While it’s nowhere near the level of the original or the 2nd film, but it’s on par with the 3rd. By no means perfect, but it’s a solid film overall. While again, Henry Thomas is quite good here and while Perkins is here just to set things up, but he’s once again terrific and by this point knows his character inside out.

Scream 3 (2000) Review

Posted in Scream 3, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , on January 22, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

Scream 3

While not a bad movie, but Scream 3 is an average film that I’d rate towards the bottom of the series. Kevin Williamson writer of the first 2 films didn’t write Scream 3 and his loss very much impacts the film. Ehren Kruger wrote Scream 3 and it’s kinda fitting Wes Craven worked with someone with that last name. The issue here is I don’t think Ehren Kruger quite understood the Scream films. Scream 3 comes across as a parody of the Scream films and that’s the biggest mistake people often make. Films such as Student Bodies (1981) is a parody. The Scream films are satirical, but they’re also legit horror films.

Scream 3 feels like a spoof at times and perhaps that was the point? But the film is just a bit too silly at times with a needless backstory and a more needless twist at the end.

Wes Craven was a very odd filmmaker. He made some absolute gems, but he also had a lot of subpar films. Despite being a bit inconsistent, Craven was an overall wonderful filmmaker. Scream 3 is nowhere near the top of his filmography but it’s far from the bottom of the pack. It’s an overall fair film within in his career. Scream 3 lacks the suspense of the past 2. Sometimes you’re at the mercy of your script and the way Scream 3 was written I don’t think Craven could have played things too differently, but there are scenes that could have had some decent suspense but hindered by some silly aspects, which fall on Wes Craven.

Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox are again solid, but their characters are getting a little tiresome as the script really doesn’t give them much to do outside of the same things as the past 2 films. Parker Posey is the standout, but this is where again it’s more of a spoof than satire.

I do feel as if Ehren Kruger missed the point and takes the series too much down the silly spoof route and again needless backstories and needless twists.

By no means a bad film, but a very much average at best one. Even Craven can’t elevate this one besides average. Good overall but yeah very much average and towards the bottom of the series for me.

My Film Franchise Rant

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , on January 18, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

So here’s my little film rant on things that kinda bug me.

I get kind of annoyed when a franchise drops the number from its title only to bring it back a film or two later. Like Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter. The 4 isn’t listed which would be ok if it was indeed the final chapter or the rest of the films didn’t have a number. The 5th film sometimes has a V, but it’s usually just Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. The 6th film brings back the numbers.

Scream 5 is simply titled Scream. While it does make sense as it is relaunch of the series. While the past 4 films factor in but the 5th film is also a new start. Ok so it makes sense. So from a marketing side of things many franchises drop the number as the series goes on. But Scream 5 also due to again a new start. But it’s kind of annoying the 5th film is simply titled Scream and the 6th and 7th both have the number after the title.

While on the subject of using the same title. We have 3 films titled Halloween. Now it makes sense as the 2007 film is a remake so of course you wouldn’t have a number after it plus after Halloween 5 none of the films had a number after it. Plus with multiple timelines by the 07 film it makes even more sense to not have a number. Then we have Halloween 2018. The title also does make sense. Again. Multiple timelines so while it’s the 11th film within the series but it isn’t the 11th part. Like the 5th Scream film a few years after Halloween 2018, the 2018 Halloween is a direct sequel to the original but it’s also a relaunch of the series. (Yeah I know that’s worded weird. I’m fully aware Scream 5 ties into the first 4 and isn’t a direct sequel to the original. While I did mention that but the way I worded it when mentioning Halloween 2018 it sounds like I’m saying Scream 5 was also a direct sequel to the original Scream which I know it isn’t).

So while it makes sense 07 and 2018 were simply titled Halloween, it doesn’t change the fact it’s kind of annoying having 3 films in the series titled Halloween.

But out of all of these. My biggest gripe is Rob Zombie’s Halloween II as we now have two films titled Halloween II. While yes Zombie’s H2 is a sequel to his remake but there were 8 films that came before the remake therefore in no way shape or form should Zombie’s film be Halloween II. It’s the 10th film and yeah it’s not part 10 but it just bugs me it’s called H2 when there’s 9 films before it.

Also there’s the 4th Final Destination which is titled The Final Destination, followed by Final Destination 5.

But my biggest gripe is Zombie’s Halloween II and the Hatchet series. There’s Hatchet, Hatchet II, Hatchet III. So far so good here, but then the 4th is titled Victor Crowley. Couldn’t it have been called Hatchet: Victor Crowley or something like that?

Siskel & Ebert review My Bloody Valentine (1981)

Posted in Siskel & Ebert Reviews, Uncategorized with tags , , , , on January 15, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

The YouTube channel I found this review has a ton of Siskel & Ebert reviews so be sure to check out the channel for other great content.

Moving on, I know Siskel & Ebert have their fans but I always felt they were a bunch of blowhards. Not every movie needs a deeper meaning. Not every movie needs to Casablanca (my all time fave film). Sometimes a movie can just be mindless fun. Not only did they often trash these films but they often trashed the audience that enjoyed them.

The Afternoon movie; The Night Stalker (full movie)

Posted in Uncategorized on January 14, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

This broadcast is from 1979 so a re-broadcast but features all the original commercials. Sit back. Enjoy and take a trip back to 1979 and watch the cult classic the Night Stalker.

Tonight’s Late Movie: The Woman Hunter

Posted in The Late Movie, Uncategorized with tags , , , on January 12, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

Tonight’s late night movie. The Woman Hunter a made for TV thriller from 1972 which aired on CBS as the movie of the week. This however is from a re-broadcast from June 28th, 1981 under the banner Movies and Madness which was originally dubbed Suspense Theatre.

The film stars Barbara Eden, Robert Vaughn and Stuart Whitman.

The screenplay was written by Brian Clemens and Tony Williamson. Anybody familiar with British TV and films should be more than aware of Brian Clemens. He was behind such TV shows as the Avengers and the New Avengers, but I mainly know his film work with Hammer Films. He has a writing credit on Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde and wrote and directed Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter.

The Woman Hunter was directed by Bernard L. Kowalski and he directed such films as Night of the Blood Beast and Attack of the Giant Leeches as well as directing four episodes of Columbo,

This is as mentioned a re-broadcast but the original commercials from the airing are in tact (mostly). There are some commercials missing unfortunately. The film itself runs at 69-minutes. This airing 78-minutes. My best guess is the airing was probably a 90-minute block.

I highly recommend giving the channel a like and also subscribe. It’s one of my absolute favorite channels on YouTube as they often upload TV movies and TV shows with the original commercials. However, from time to time the movies are removed and it’s just the commercial blocks and bumpers.

Sit back on a late night and watch the Woman Hunter.

The Future of This Page

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on January 10, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

So here’s a few things about the blog. Some of these things I might have stated in my re-introduction but I kinda rushed that as a test to see how things went with posting. To be honest I’m not sure why I even stepped away. My last post was March of 2015. Not long after that my mother got cancer and the following years were followed by death, dementia for one family member. More death, a house fire. But besides my mother in 2015 that all happened between 2016-2022. I think I just got burnt out as many of my postings were rushed to keep the page active. Then life sort of got in the way and I just sort of gave up running this blog.

But let’s focus on the future. First off over the coming weeks the page will be sort of like the early days of the solar system. Kind of a mess. I’ll have some new posts while deleting others. In some cases re-posting after a rewrite. While the name of the page is The Late Night Horror Drive-In (though the website remains the same address) but horror is my passion so no doubt you’ll see a ton of horror content, but despite the name I’m gonna write about film in general. All genres. At some point I may shorten the name to simply the Late Night Drive-In.

While horror is my passion but film-noir of the 40s and 50s is probably my favorite genre. I also love a good western (both American and Italian). My favorite era of film is the golden age of Hollywood with WB being my absolute favorite studio. So you’ll see a ton of WB related posts. Some about the brothers (mainly Jack L. Warner).

One of my goals with this blog is maybe inspire people to seek out films that they normally wouldn’t watch. I’ve always been an explorer. When I first got cable in the early 90s I’d watch an insane amount of cable. But not only did I watch horror but I’d watch about anything. So many movies I had no real interest in, I watched and loved. So even as a kid I was a film explorer but the last decade even more so. So I wanna focus on not just horror but different genres, decades and so forth. If I can inspire 1 person to seek out various genres and eras. That’s good enough for me.

Also, I wanna bring a touch of nostalgia. I’ll post YouTube videos (I always give the credit to the content creators. I’m NOT trying to pass it as mine). But I’ll post commercials blocks from past eras. It’ll be like a Time Machine. Or for those to young to remember a Time Machine to an era they were too young to remember or not born yet. I’ll also post made for TV movies with the original commercials. Theatrical films that aired on network or basic cable with the original commercials.

Another idea. I need you all out there to take part. I’ll post the movie of the week intro or late night movie intro. Then I’ll pick a film. You watch it. In some cases. If I can find the commercials blocks for that movie. I’ll post it. You watch the movie while occasionally pausing and watching the commercials to sort of recreate a past era.

Lastly, I might also from time to time write about unsolved crimes. That’s something I’ve been wanting to do, but most likely if I attempt that. It’ll be way down the road.

These are just some of my ideas. In coming days I’m gonna start making a couple of posts here and there while cleaning up the page. The ideas I have. I’ll get to those ASAP.

I wanna create a fun place, share my love of film and TV while bringing some nostalgia and recreating a bygone era.

Thanks to anyone reading this.

A Re-Introduction

Posted in Uncategorized on January 8, 2026 by The Late Night Horror Drive-In

It’s been probably a decade or so since I’ve posted on this blog. I attempted to start over but it was an absolute nightmare. So I’m gonna be fixing up this page. Many of the reviews are old and outdated. Perhaps some cases my opinion has changed. When I originally ran this blog, I sometimes rushed my reviews to try and keep the page active. So overtime I’m gonna delete much of what’s on here while adding a lot of new aspects to the page which I hope many will enjoy.

At some point I’ll probably remove 95% of what’s on here and rewrite the post than re-post it. To keep the page at least having a little something I’ll delete a few leave a few as I add in more is when a lot of the older posts will be deleted.

I have some really fun ideas for the page. While I’ve always loved film but in the years since I lasted posted I’ve expanded my knowledge of film by so much that in many ways. I’m not the same person that once posted here.

Keep checking back for new and much better stuff.
