This refusal would make the Democrats look like wusses and the President weak, which is evidently the wet dream of teabagging US senators.

2. Reid says okay.

3. McConnell shits his pants and rises to object to his own proposal.

4. End result: McConnell looks like a smacked ass and nothing gets done. Again.
