Rotten Gysahls

Rotten Gysahls is KupoCon’s Final Fantasy review system.  A fun, leafy way of ranking titles. We score each game out of 100 based on several key factors including gameplay, story, characters, music, visuals, world design, side content, and how well it captures that classic Final Fantasy spirit. Whether it’s fresh and chocobo-approved or rotten beyond saving, this system helps us decide which entries stand tall.

Once we tally up the points, each Final Fantasy game lands on the chart as follows:

Fresh: [80-100] Crisp, vibrant, and chocobo-approved. An exceptional Final Fantasy experience with all the key ingredients. From thrilling gameplay, compelling characters, rich lore, and that unmistakable FF charm. It’s kwehzy good.

Ripe: [60–79] A tasty treat with a few brown spots. Solid and enjoyable, with notable strengths and perhaps a few missteps. It’s got enough flavor to satisfy most players and earns its place in the series, even if it’s not among the best.

Wilted : [30–59] Still edible…with seasoning. An uneven experience with flashes of greatness buried under flawed execution. Some elements may shine, but others bring it down. Hardcore fans might nibble, others may skip.

Rotten: [0–29] Even a starving chocobo would spit it out. Lacking in charm, polish, or identity. This is the kind of Gysahl that’s better left on the ground. A misstep that misses so much you hope this is the FINAL fantasy…
