Feb. 25th, 2015

I did end up going for tea and cake with the ladies yesterday.  It was fine, even though only two others showed up (8 couples attended the classes).  It was good to get out and about, despite my pelvis being sore/weak, and finding having to walk slowly really frustrating.  I was jealous of the people around me walking briskly, and baffled by the fit and well people choosing to walk as slowly or nearly as slowly as me! I obviously don't do the concept of the stroll, or at least not willingly.   It was nice enough to meet them anyway.  I could see myself becoming friendly with one of them who was there.   I was impressed with the fact that it was teashop we went to (as opposed to boring old coffee shop, since I don't drink coffee) and the menu.   I don't actually drink much herbal and fancy teas, because I love plain old black tea with (soya) milk so much, but I do like them on occasion.  They didn't have plain old decaff there, so I ordered their lemon sherbet tea, which you can find here if you are interested in buying some.  It was delicious.

Today I got myself my first bit of normal sized clothing in months and months - a Dragon Age tshirt.  I'm not 100% gone on the artwork on this tee, and think Morrigan doesn't particularly look like herself, but it's reasonably nice, and it's certainly the nicest Dragon Age tshirt I could find around the place, and as it's on sale, that sealed the deal.    Who knows what size I'll be after I have the baby, but maybe that will provide motivation.   I  will hopefully fit in it by the summer anyway, presuming we get a summer this year.

I think I'll try to find myself a nice normal sized coat as well, and then leave it at that for selfish purchases this month.  I hate coat shopping.  I'm extremely picky about coats and jackets, with the result that I end with very few of them, and they all get scruffy from being worn so often.  I wish I was one of those people who looks effortlessly stylish, and good coats/jackets are obviously essential to this, but I fear it is never to be.

I'm not sure what is on my agenda today.  I want to go out at some point, but I don't want to go far from the flat (I seriously considered giving up and going home several times while on route to tea and cakes yesterday) but there is not much of interest around here.  There is a new tapas place open that I want to check out, even though it looks hipsterish, but I just read online that they only open during the daytime at the weekend.  Sigh.   I suppose a walk to the shop is going to be the extent of my excitment for today.  It hardly seems worth getting dressed for.  But I will feel grubby and lazy if I don't.  Hmmmmm.

It's going to be tough. I don't think anyone with a baby takes time out of work in this country. I'm starting to feel like a right dosser!
