A new Irish animated film, with music by a great old band who I've seen a few times, Kila. I hope I get a chance to see it in the cinema. Maybe it will be shown at baby club. Or maybe I'll get someone to mind the baby and go on my own. I've already promised Mickey and his mother that I'm going to try and get out on my own sometimes because they are worried about me getting cabin fever.
The baby is doing great, btw. He is 7 weeks old now, and has learned to smile and babble, and is just starting to laugh. It's really cute. He's a lot more interactive with the world now. In a way, he's more challenging because he sleeps less and can get overtired now, and he also can cry about things like tiredness and boredom whereas when he was new he only cried if he wanted food or changing. He's lovely though. It's hard work, but he's lovely.
I got this icon of the baby from Ponyo because the way Studio Ghibli draws babies really reminds me of Séamus. He looks a lot like that baby. Pity I have no photoshop skillz to get a better image. Marco from Howl's Moving Castle also reminds me of him, but he's older of course. Film Four had a Ghibli Season on recently. I watched Kiki, Nausica, Ponyo, and Howl - all films I had already seen. There were a load on that I've never seen, but somehow I seemed to just catch ones I had already seen. It was good to watch them again though, even though they showed dubbed versions and subbed is usually better. Although Nausica did include the gravitas of Patrick Stewart.
Marco ETA: I just remembered I watched Totoro too. Totoro, To-to-rooo... lalala
So glad to hear from you!! *glomp!!* Sounds like you're settling in, and do friend me on Facebook if you want (but warn me who to watch out for because I reject or ignore people I don't know).
