People have been saying for decades that one day, robots would take over our jobs. That hasn't happened quite yet, but we're certainly seeing more of them. Self-checkout machines are becoming more popular in grocery stores, and assembly line jobs in factories are leaning more on technology these days too.
Now, Denny's is taking it a step further with robot servers.
Steve White, an area manager for the Denny's in Milpitas, says the fast-food chain is now experimenting with the servers at a number of locations.
"As it is well known it is currently a struggle staffing in all industries and we have come up with an innovative and exciting new technology of using robots to deliver food to our guests," White told FOX26 News.
White says you can already see the robots in Milpitas, as well as the Denny's on Shaw Avenue, near First Street in northeast Fresno.
"We're using it in a test mode right now for the first 3 weeks and then we'll implement them at further units," explained White.
