Escaping the madness of motherhood through writing and reading crime novels.
Joy Kluver has been an avid reader and writer since childhood. She has written three DI Bernadette ‘Bernie’ Noel books – Last Seen, Broken Girls and Left For Dead. The series was shortlisted for Best New Kid on the Block (best new series) in the Dead Good Reader Awards 2022.
A book blogger, she offers her insights into other books and discusses various crime writing events on her blog page. She was also part of the First Monday Crime team, and if you attended any of their events it’s likely you ate one of her famous cookies!
Joy additionally organises Murder in Merton, a collection of crime writing events across South West London, including workshops and competitions. At her local library, she also organises and hosts author talks.

Murder in the Mountains with authors Simon McCleave & John Sutherland on Monday 27th October at 7.30pm
On Monday 27th October join Simon McCleave and John Sutherland as they chat to Joy Kluver about their latest police procedural books.
Simon takes us to North Wales with his DI Ruth Hunter series, while John transports his normally London based police pair, Alex and Pip, to Scotland. Books will be available to buy on the night.

Murder in Merton is a collection of crime writing events across South West London, organised and often hosted by Joy Kluver. It includes workshops, author talks and interviews, and competitions, alongside many other events.
Murder in Merton has run events in conjunction with Merton Libraries, Wimbledon Bookfest, and the Friends of West Barnes Library. Many of the events take place at Joy’s local library – West Barnes Library.
