This was originally requested as part of the Japan earthquake fundraiser at arashi_on, for blufox_o7. It's been start and stop so many times over the years, and this was written across those four years, and three countries. Better late than never? I hope that you enjoy this, and it's close to what you wanted!

This is part one of two, and I'm about 50% finished the second part, but I've decided to post this first in order to force myself to commit to getting this done soon! The title comes from Harbour by Vienna Teng.

Set in the Saudade universe a few months after the events of Saudade, just a little bit further to your town, and In That Certain Time; Jun is seeing with a guy, and Aiba tries to convince Jun (and everyone, and himself) that he's okay with this. Somewhere along the line, he fucks up.

It's been years. Too many years. I started this in 2009, and I wasn't sure if I would ever finish it. I kept coming back to it and revisiting it, changing it as time went on. If I think about it, we're already pretty much in the time I had envisioned the original Saudade story to take place in. However, I didn't really adjust for much – I'm stubbornly clinging to the trappings of my universe! Well, in any case, I'm not sure this is relevant anymore, but it sure felt good to write again. Huge thanks to nicefinalbeam, tangiblewhimsy, and honooko for checking this over! It would never have been finished without you!

This was – and it's shameful to even admit it – a request from help_japan, made over 3 years ago. I'm not sure if the requester is even around fandom anymore, but they were kind enough to never harass me, despite having made a generous donation against this fic's existence.
