i have had officially the worst week ever, rounding out one of the worst months of my life. seriously, seriously, it can only get better. i'm praying to god it happens sooner rather than later.

...........and, just as i type this, i get a call from this friend of my aunt's who manages the northampton branch of northwestern mutual. my aunt had introduced us back in july, her friend is a MHC alum who loves to hire other alums, but for whatever reason we never connected to talk about whether or not i'd even want to work there-- she just called to say she was emailing me the profile of the two positions they're looking to fill and wants me to sit down with their HR girl next week.

that timing was so fortuitous i can't even believe it. wow. maybe things will be okay after all......

19 still follows me : three of the lj posts i was tagging today got halted at 19 tags, and in VM 2x13 thumper has locker #19 in the auto shop classroom. also, it's only 19 days till mare moves in. XD

keith mars has, i think, pretty much jumped to hold the crown of my favorite TV dad. he's so. goddamn. sweet. and how sad he gets about being disillusioned about terrence cook, agh. my heart bleeds. in addition, i would really like to be kissed by someone who kisses as well as jason dohring looks like he does. and/or by francis capra. cus guh. anyone else want to back me on shipping weevil and veronica really hardcore? cus double guh. i know it'll never happen on the show, but damn. a girl can wish, right? n___n;;;;

also on the note of media, 'stick it' was pretty bad. funny, but it's just like a repeat of bring it on. which is, let's be real, an awesome bad-in-a-good-way movie, so. XD but it passed the evening nicely, and i get to sleep in tomorrow cus i don't work till 8. 'on a clear day' was really good though, and 'find me guilty' was goofy and silly (though if you're looking for vin diesel comedy, 'the pacifier' is way better) and 'syriana' shockingly was awfully boring; i turned it off after 15 minutes. this makes me sad, as i expected more from george. but ah well.

also....... opposite plot is the best thing ever. just sayin'. >>;;;;;

eta: in collecting the music they play on vmars, i'm hitting a wall with 'dame esa cosa' by rene brizuela. anyone know how/where to get it? it's fabulous hip hop and i wants it, precious, but limewire does not like me today. alternately, anyone who'd know how to pirate the full mix from where it's posted here that would rock too. :D

yes. i am A GIANT ASS GEEK. tell me this is news to any of you, and i'll tell you you don't read this thing often enough.

i cleaned again today. it's really weird, the slightly perverse pleasure i get from cleaning shit. like, to walk into my apartment this afternoon after work and see the carpet freshly vacuumed, the kitchen floor clean, all the shit up off the floor in the living room and the cat sleeping on the futon... it just made me give a little domestic squee somewhere deep inside myself.

in other news, i'm addicted to veronica mars. shelightsupwell has long known this was coming; she's been warning me for months, in fact, since i first got to know her. well stef, you were nothing but right. i'm like, sitting here slapping the vein waiting for the next disc to arrive. woe, to be able to afford BUYING it. (also darling, i hope you don't mind i borrowed your icon. XD it was too cute to pass up!)

also, i've been rereading the riddle-master trilogy by patricia mckillip and just marveling again at how amazingly rich and beautiful her writing is. i've loved that series since i was in middle-school, and my enjoyment of it is no less diminished now. the characters are vivid and real enough that you definitely get attached to them, and the plot weaves seamlessly together with an incredible twist at the end in a scene that still wows me to this day. *sigh* mckillip is better known for other things, certainly, but this will always be my favorite of hers.

and just rereading that paragraph i think, jesus emily, just go write book reviews for a living or something. :}

also, house starts on tuesday. i think s3 of vmars does too, which leaves me in the unfortunate predicament of wondering whether i ought to spoil myself rotten for seasons 1 and 2 so i can start s3 on the same page as everyone, or if i should be stoic and just download everything when i'm ready. XD thoughts?
