It\u2019s an opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For nearly two decades, we chased a moving target. The aim is not for the absolute newest components, but for the most compatible and best-supported ones to ensure a rock-solid system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"CPU_The_Heart_of_the_Matter\"><\/span><strong>CPU: The Heart of the Matter<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Sweet Spot (Intel):<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>10th-Generation Intel Core \u201cComet Lake\u201d processors (i5-10600K, i7-10700K, i9-10900K).<\/strong>\u00a0These processors are the foundation of the last generation of Intel iMacs (iMac20,1 and iMac20,2) and are natively supported by <a href=\"https:\/\/kextcache.com\/macos-tahoe-hackintosh-end-of-era\/\" title=\"macOS Tahoe: The Last Roar for Intel and the End of an Era for Hackintosh\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"297\">macOS Tahoe<\/a>. They represent the peak of hassle-free compatibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Enthusiast\u2019s Choice (Intel):<\/strong>\u00a012th, 13th, and 14th-Gen Intel CPUs (\u201cAlder Lake\u201d and \u201cRaptor Lake\u201d) are viable but require more complex setup, including patches to manage their Performance and Efficiency cores. While powerful, they may require ongoing community support for full stability. Intel\u2019s newest \u201cArrow Lake\u201d CPUs are still bleeding-edge and should be avoided for a stable build.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The AMD Path:<\/strong>\u00a0AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000 series CPUs are incredibly powerful and have a strong community following. However, they will always require significant <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/kextcache.com\/troubleshooting-common-issues-on-arch-linux\/\"   title=\"Troubleshooting Common Issues on Arch Linux\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"78\">kernel<\/a> patching to run macOS. This path is for experienced tinkerers who are comfortable with potential quirks. For an LTS build, Intel is the more straightforward choice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Motherboard_The_Foundation\"><\/span><strong>Motherboard: The Foundation<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For the Sweet Spot (Intel):<\/strong>\u00a0A high-quality\u00a0<strong>Z490 or Z590 motherboard<\/strong>\u00a0is the gold standard. Brands like Gigabyte (Designare, Aorus) and ASUS (ProArt, ROG Strix) are well-documented and offer the stability needed for a final build.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For the Enthusiast\u2019s Choice (Intel):<\/strong>\u00a0Z690 and Z790 motherboards are necessary for newer CPUs.
