The town of reference is Zorse, which is inhabited by the Kusasi tribe in the North Eastern part of Ghana. Anthropologists and psychologists explain anxiety assault as a fear reaction that emanates from a people’s belief that a person can cause sex organs to vanish or shrink. Charles Mather used ethnography to describe detailed accounts of happenings. This current paper provides a systematic review of happenings based on the information gathered from the script of Mather. It is revealed that the explanations offered are also grounded in bioengineering and psychology.

The research was carried out in the Accra metropolis. The researchers gathered detailed information about the cybercrime offenders from the CID headquarters and used the report to contact some of the participants. A total of eleven (11) internet scammers took part in the study. Structured interview guide was employed as data collection instrument. In the data analysis, each of the in-depth interviews was transcribed as soon as the information is gathered and developed them into codes. The investigation revealed that cybercriminals in Ghana engaged in different forms of internet crimes such as gold market, romance, online shopping, collaboration with security agencies, and criminal networking opportunities to co-opt their partners. This study was embarked upon to investigate the role of the media in the management of conflict i... more This study was embarked upon to investigate the role of the media in the management of conflict in the Tuabodom area of Ghana. The study specifically sought to evaluate the media&#39;s role in Tuabodom conflict, to examine the perception of residence about the media&#39;s role in managing conflict and to suggest feasible policy recommendations. The use of questionnaires and interviews were employed as major data collection instruments. Secondary information was gathered from other sources which include the internet, literatures on conflict and the media, archival findings and other related works. The data collected was analysed using tables, charts and simple percentages with the help of Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 16.0 software system. The analysis revealed that most conflicts in some parts of Ghana occur through the media of which Tuabodom area is of no exception. It was therefore concluded that, the media should play an effective role by adopting a multi-dimensional approach in educating the public about conflict and its resolution. In addition, panels used for discussions on radio and television programmes should be decorous in their choice of words and be tolerant in others views when given the appropriate medium.

It specifically sought to know the nature of political intolerance in Ghana, the causes of political intolerance and appropriate ways of mitigating the problem. The use of questionnaires and interviews were employed as major data collection instruments using purposive and convenient sampling techniques to reach respondents. The analysis revealed that political intolerance in Ghana mainly takes the form of threats of violence and character assassination as a result of ethnocentrism exhibited through the media. It was therefore concluded that, the media should play an effective role by recruiting qualified persons to hold political discussions in the media and by applying high journalistic standards in handling issues in the media.

Development projects selected were water systems, market structures and KVIP’s. This was a descriptive survey research design which used semi-structured interviews, a focus group discussion guide and observation checklist to gather data from 72 respondents from six selected communities within the districts. The findings indicate that both Development Agencies and beneficiaries ‘participated’ in the development projects as a means to an end. The end to the Development Agents was to meet externally induced welfare targets and to the communities, the end being meeting immediate socio-economic deficiencies. Literature informs us that the key challenge to the Computerized School Selection and Placement System was the human factor in terms of refusal of parents and students to accept placement into other schools apart from their chosen high endowed schools. It is also found from the literature of this paper that, there was the challenge of some parents not being able to pay the school fees for their wards who have been placed in private schools due to the high cost of private schools&#39; fees. Methodologically, this paper relied primarily on secondary sources of information such as online literatures on computerized school selection, archives, some excerpts from the daily graphic among others. Parents, Headteachers of Junior High Schools and Senior High Schools, students, policy makers and stakeholders in education were the focus in this study. Finally, the review established that the CSSPS has become fertile grounds for bribery and corruption in our dear country Ghana. From the review, it is therefore recommended that there is the need to revisit the policy of developing some of the senior high schools in each region as model schools, with all the modern facilities required in a standard second cycle school. Also, we recommend that Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ghana Education Service (GES) should provide inputs in time to the least endowed schools and also upgrade the infrastructural facilities in the least endowed schools to make them attractive to students so as to reduce pressure on the highly endowed schools. This study is therefore embarked upon generally to find out the nature of political intolerance in the era of modernism, the causes and possible solutions in curbing these intolerances in our media fronts. This study was directed by four main specific objectives. Specifically, the study sought to find out if political intolerance can be a tool for political instability, the acts of the media which causes political intolerance, ways of achieving political tolerance and how best the National Media Commission can help in curbing or minimizing political intolerances in our media fronts. Methodologically, the study made use of questionnaires as the main data collection instrument using purposive, convenient and simple random sampling as the main data collection techniques. There was other information solicited from other sources which included the internet, literatures on the media, archival findings and other related works. The data collected was analyzed using tables and simple percentages with the help of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 20.0. The analysis revealed that political intolerance can be a tool for instability in the country. It was also revealed that wrong reportage and the use of abusive language in our media fronts are major causes of political intolerances in our media. It was therefore recommended by the researchers based on the data collected that, consensus building and applying high journalistic standards are ways of achieving political tolerance in our media. To assist with assessment and improvement in Public Finance management (PFM), the 2016 Public Exp... more To assist with assessment and improvement in Public Finance management (PFM), the 2016 Public Expenditure Financial Accountability (PEFA) was used to measure 2018 PFM performance of all countries. This report compares and assesses the 2018 PFM performance of Ghana and Malawi. A detailed assessment of performance in terms of the seven pillars of the PFM system was done which provided analysis and measurement of results in terms of the 31 performance indicators (PIs) of PFM performance. Assessing all the seven (7) pillars with their indicators and dimensions together, it was realized that on an ordinal scale, Malawi’s PFM performance is higher than that of Ghana. Thus, Malawi is appraised with having a higher PFM performance than Ghana. It is therefore recommended that further investigation is done to identify the loopholes and leakages in the PFM of Ghana and duly sealed for the country’s PFM to be more reliable.

The research design that was used for the study was a blend of quantitative and qualitative methods in a descriptive survey manner. The stratified sampling technique was used in this study. In all, a sample size of four hundred and eighty (480) Social Studies teacher trainees were chosen for the study. The data collection tools used were semi-structured interview guide and questionnaire. The study revealed that most of the tutors used appropriate pedagogical approaches to the effective teaching and learning of Social Studies. Again, the study revealed that majority of respondents agreed that the pedagogical content knowledge of Social Studies teachers and teachers’ teaching-learning strategies significantly enhanced the Social Studies instructional process in the classroom. It investigated the factors that affect students’ attitude towards Social Studies and assessed how students’ attitude towards Social Studies could be improved. A sample of 72 teachers was used. Methodologically, the study adopted the simple random sampling technique and purposive sampling technique. Questionnaire was used as the main data collection instrument. Kohler’s theory of insight learning served as the theoretical basis for this study. The quantitative data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0. whereas the qualitative data was transcribed appropriately. It was found that students in the Accra Metropolitan Assembly performed averagely in Social Studies. They also have positive attitudes towards studying Social Studies. Factors found to affect students’ attitude towards Social Studies include; teachers not showing interest in teaching controversial issues, teachers’ inability to give needed assistance to students, teachers’ inability to use different teaching methods in teaching Social Studies classes, inadequate teaching and learning materials and inability of Social Studies teachers to employ resource persons in times of difficulty. It is therefore recommended that Ghana Education Service should recruit professional teachers to teach Social Studies in Senior High schools. This will help the students to improve more with the right knowledge in Social Studies.

An important driver for large-scale land acquisition in Ghana, and the rest of Africa, is the growing global demand for biofuels and other plantations. Methodologically, mixed method approach was adopted by applying both quantitative and qualitative research designs. Quantitative data was obtained through a cross-sectional survey from smallholder farming households in the study communities of the Pru District with the help of a multi-stage sampling technique and cluster sampling technique. Qualitative data was obtained through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) from farmer-based associations in the Pru district. The Pru district in the Bono East region was purposively selected based on the reason that it is the most affected district with activities of land grabbing in Ghana. Based on the sample frame of 2,554 households in the communities, a sample size of 346 was used for the study out of which 332 were households and 14 were investors and traditional authorities. The study revealed that household heads&#39; level of education, sex of household heads, household engagement in off-farm activities, total farm land owned by a household, size of land lost by households to large-scale land investors, households&#39; participation in decision making, and training of households for other alternative jobs significantly influence large-scale land
