Add and manage Custom Fields in Jetpack CRM

Tailor your customer data by using custom fields: add unique information fields specific to your business needs to effectively organize, track, and segment your contacts.

With custom fields, you can capture and store additional information unique to your business within Jetpack CRM.

You can create and manage these fields for contacts, companies, quotes, invoices, transactions, and addresses to better organize and segment your data.

Access the custom field editor

To access the custom field editor, go to Jetpack CRM → CRM Settings → Custom Fields.

From here, you can add or edit custom fields across different record types.
Note: Adding fields under the “Address” section makes them available wherever addresses appear in Jetpack CRM.

Create a custom field

To create a new custom field, follow the steps below:

  1. Choose the section (e.g., contact, company, quote) where you want to create the custom field and click the + Add Custom Field button.
  2. Enter a descriptive Field Name.
  3. Select a Field Type from the dropdown, such as text, textarea, date, etc.
  4. Enter placeholder text (that is optional) that will appear wherever the custom field is used; this can be edited later for each record.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Custom Fields to apply your changes.

Once saved, custom fields receive a unique field key visible under the field name in settings. These keys are used for integration and API purposes.

Create a custom file upload box

You can create a custom field that accepts file uploads. This adds a Files tab/view to contact profiles in the Jetpack CRM dashboard where associated files are displayed.

Please note that after adding a custom file upload field, you must edit individual contacts to upload files directly.

Use custom fields and placeholders in emails

Keep in mind that placeholders for custom fields might not display correctly in email previews and test sends but will render properly in live campaigns.

To ensure accuracy, test your placeholders using your own contact or email segment.

    Is it possible?

It seems they are only a read only set of data on contact page, which is useless 🙁

    1. Hi Arnie,

This is indeed achievable, via Advanced Segments – where you can make segments & filters using custom fields.

      All the best

  4. Is the CRM useful without any extension?

    1. Yes, we’ve thousands of users using the CRM without extensions, and in fact 85%+ of our codebase is in the free core CRM. CRM Extensions are just there for those who need additional functionality.
