Hi Everyone,

As we all know the housesitting gig is a crazy one and today has been no exception. L just (2pm) gave me 4 hours notice to be out of the house. I have been at an (exhausting) state of constant readiness for days now waiting to see when she was coming home, so packing didn't take that long, but I still have several hours of stuff I had wanted to get done online before I went home.

At home I have no internet and normally the library is the most awesome workaround but with the Coronavirus out there the inside of library is off-limits. This means I have no internet until... who knows when.

I don't want to worry anyone and the best solution would be to make sure everyone had a way to get in touch with me.

kiramaru7 is on LJ. vexed_wench is on DW (she says you can also email her at promptlyvexed at Gmail) and they can either make sure messages are passed along or numbers or whatever is needed.

No one knows how long this will last and this is the best idea we came up with.

Also, I have pre-done my bits for April at the comms I co-mod so Madrona Info newsletters and such should still go up.

Last year, one of my neices graduated from high school. For some reason, I was suddenly filled with the need to impart all the advice I had to give. This turned into a long list I typed on a doc one night and never did anything with. I just found it again and decided to share it here.

Fall Fest Bingo 2019 is a go people! Here are my two cards. The first is made from an assortment of prompt lists and because I'm a masochist, I made a second card just from Supernaturalisms. I can't guarantee I'll fill it with Supernatural fics. Have fun everyone.

In an effort to find things to get me out of the house (for fun, not the I have to things), I have been checking out the new programming at the library.

They are starting a book club. First meeting is in September. The cool thing about it is that its a genre book club. As in August has a genre theme and in September we meet to talk about some book we read from that genre and drink coffee for an hour.

I want to give it a shot, but I am having trouble picking a book.

The theme for August is Fantasy and I was just going to browse the stacks until something jumped out at me, but like a lot of librarys, they have lumped the sci-fi and the fantasy into the same section. I would do the same thing. But as much as I like fantasy, I am more apt to grab something that is more sci-fi instead. As this is a genre specific book club, I would like my fantasy pick to be firmly in the fantasy genre in case they do sci-fi later.

I also would like to read something that is a stand alone, not the beginning of an epic trilogy or lengthy series I will feel compelled to keep reading. That would be awesome for some other time, not book club.

It would also be nice to read something I haven't read before, though I am flexible on that.

This is a very tall order.

Anyone have any ideas?
