Kant’s position was moderate: like liberals, he believed in the evolution of freedom; like conservatives, he underscored the difficulties confronting a person on that way and dissuaded from taking hasty action. Realists deem these difficulties either insurmountable or surmountable to such a modest degree that they will not allow the overcoming of anarchy, uncertainty and the conflict-prone nature of international relations. Some of Kant’s contemporaries criticised his philosophy of politics and law from positions close to political realism and conservatism in the broadest sense. Бонадысева Освещено содержание докладов и дискуссий XII Кантов-ских чтений, которые были организованы в апреле 2019 г. научным подразделением «Академия Кантиана» Балтий-ского федерального университета им. И. Канта. Традици-онно Кантовские чтения отличались универсальностью тематики, охватывали все области кантовского наследия. На этот раз тематическим фокусом конференции стала практическая философия, а именно исторические осно-вания и современное значение этической мысли И. Канта в сопоставлении ее с другими философскими проектами эпохи Просвещения. Должное внимание при этом было уде-лено рецепции этики Канта и Просвещения в философии России и Запада. Специальные секции были отведены об-суждению аспектов взаимосвязи просветительской этики и эстетики, а также междисциплинарным проблемам на стыке философии политики и философии образования, включая пути противодействия различным формам ин-теллектуального порабощения. Возможности применения кантовских этических принципов обсуждались в тесной связи с осмыслением новейших тенденций развития науки и технологий. Было отмечено, что интеллектуальная и социальная коммуникативная среда нашего времени имеет немало общего с эпохой Просвещения, что делает предло-женные в ту эпоху философские стратегии пригодными для адаптации и развития. The international conference “Kantian Rationality in Philosophy of Science” was held on 9–11 Octo... more The international conference “Kantian Rationality in Philosophy of Science” was held on 9–11 October 2020 at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (IKBFU) in Kaliningrad. Fifteen participants from different countries discussed aspects of the Kantian understanding of science and the roles of reason in it: the unity, difference, and systematicity of the functions of reason in science, as they are revealed in Kant’s discussions of criteria of scientificity, the classification of sciences, or methods of theoretical and experimental research in specific sciences. The topics discussed fell into two broad categories: firstly, the relationship between metaphysics and science in the context of Kant’s time; secondly, the relevance of Kant’s ideas to modern sciences and the concepts of philosophy of science in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

Cycles of articles are devoted to the reception of Kant’s ideas in the philosophical and poetic work of V. S. Solovyov, Kant’s impact on A. S. Pushkin, A. A. Fet, and E. T. A. Hoffmann. Traditionally, Kant Readings have been thematically universal, embracing all the areas of Kant’s legacy. This time the conference focused on practical philosophy, i.e. the historical grounds and modern significance of Kant’s ethical thought as compared to other philosophical projects of the Enlightenment era. Burke both presented and developed their political views in 1790s in the common context of the French Revolution. We compare their views in two aspects. First, we consider the question whether Kant in his writings has implicitly referred to Burke’s pamphlet “Reflections on the Revolution in France”. In our view, it remains unproven and doubtful that Kant had read this book (in German translation). Second, we consider Kant’s political views as liberal and Burke’s ones as conservative. We rely on those scholars who distinguish liberalism and conservatism building on the anthropological foundations of political philosophy. Some scholars define Kant’s moderate liberalism as a variation of conservatism, although Kant explicitly criticizes a number of ultra-conservative views. The starting point of my study is Kant’s remark to the effect that Garve in his treatise on the c... more The starting point of my study is Kant’s remark to the effect that Garve in his treatise on the connection between morality and politics presents arguments in defence of unjust principles. Recognition of these principles is, according to Kant, an inadvisable concession to those who are inclined to abuse it. I interpret this judgement by making a detailed comparison of the texts of the two treatises. I demonstrate that Garve’s work is an eclectic attempt to combine in one concept the lessons of historical experience with the ideas drawn from British empiricism and German rationalism. These ideas were criticised by Kant in his “critical” period. There is a consensus among researchers that Garve condoned the expansionist policy of Frederick II of Prussia, totally denied that legality in international relations was possible and in general deserved the reputation of an (ultra-)conservative. Проводится комплексный анализ содержания, значения и сценариев применения трансцендентальных прин... more Проводится комплексный анализ содержания, значения и сценариев применения трансцендентальных принципов публичного права, сформулированных Кантом во втором приложении трактата «К вечному миру». Сопоставляются различные интерпретации принципов российскими и зарубежными исследователями. Затрагиваются вопросы о том, какой тип «публики» подразумевается в данных принципах, целесообразны ли принципы как априорные критерии выбора максим, насколько они эффективны как эмпирические критерии определения правомерности и насколько обоснована применяемая к ним характеристика «трансцендентальные». Рассуждения Канта на тему политической публичности, являющие сложную историю и представленные в целом ряде сочинений и лекций, приводят нас в область эмпирических практик и антропологических наблюдений, которые, будучи собраны вместе, грозят нарушить требуемую чистоту формы. На поверку они оказываются либо поводами для поиска трансцендентальных принципов, либо примерами, ориентированными на определенный тип читателей и политических субъектов. Но определение места принципов публичности в Кантовой системе права, их строгое позиционирование — также непростая задача, которая добавляет новые вопросы об их допустимом и желательном применении. Явным образом принципы изложены в трактате о вечном мире, однако мы
показываем, что, несмотря на распространенное мнение, дальнейшие пояснения и примеры можно найти и в более поздних сочинениях. В заключение
рассматривается умеренный вариант интерпретации, позволяющий согласовать принципы публичности как (мета)принципы правотворчества и правоприменения с ядром Кантовой системы права и морали. В результате снимается вопрос о прямой эффективности этих принципов, а провозглашение формального характера «учения о счастье» устраняет подозрения в имплицитно апостериорном и эмпирическом характере критериев, заявленных как формальные и априорные.

Хабермаса в поддержку европейской интеграции, уделяется внимание вопросу их соотношения с миротворческим проектом Иммануила Канта, составленном в конце XVIII века.
The first part of the article describes general development of Kant studies in Königsberg as a lo... more The first part of the article describes general development of Kant studies in Königsberg as a local movement (not a school) with some special traits, which has significantly contributed to the culture of the town. Core activities were formed by the Society of Kant’s Friends, as well as by archival studies, i. e. collecting, annotating and publishing Kant’s manuscripts, correspondence, and lecture notes. In view of primary and secondary sources we would suggest to structure this movement in four lines: popularization; biographical research; collection and publication of manuscripts, letters
and lecture notes; interpretation and reception of Kant's ideas. A more detailed description is given for the first line — an activity of persons of different occupations, which was more or less popularizing. It began during Kant’s lifetime and concluded with the last echoes of Königsberg culture while the town was no more part of Germany. It was an important part of the whole philosophical culture of East Prussia, and, in some sense, even a factor of self-identification. This process, with a large variety of tasks and solutions in its interlacing and intermittent threads, has played an important role at the beginnings and evelopment of other lines of the local Kant studies. Successes and failures are shown not only in our description, but also lively and emotional from the own standpoint of heroes of this history. Prospects for in-depth research are also outlined.

Особенно драматичен центральный во многих отношениях текст «К вечному миру», нашпигованный яркими выражениями, которыми восхищались уже первые читатели. Диспутанты представлены как конкретными авторами, живыми или уже умершими современниками Канта (например, Гарве, Мендельсон, Фридрих Великий), так и собирательными образами, олицетворяющими целые сословия. Две главных стороны: сам Кант и любимые им философы (такие как Сен-Пьер и Руссо) выступают против «правительства» и «заправских юристов». Кантова философия права, стоящая, как считается, на метафизическом фундаменте, возведена с минимумом антропологических предпосылок, и в этом его заслуга. Но учение Канта о политике очень тесно связано с моральной антропологией, и в этом также его достоинство. Оправдываясь эмпирическими наблюдениями, политик нарушает нормы права. Тем самым он сознательно подчиняется тем же склонностям, которых опасается в народе. Философ, во многом соглашаясь с мрачными оценками человеческой природы, всё же стремится переубедить политика и вселить в него умеренный оптимизм. В статье проводится сбор, обобщение и систематизация представлений политиков и юристов о людях, о мире и политической деятельности. Согласно Кантовой философии права, модель идеального общества можно изобразить как механизм, но его же философия истории и политики решительно противятся этому и склоняют к органицизму. Методологической основой анализа аргументации служит «когнитивный подход» В. Брюшинкина. Показаны исторические и идейные источники тех ориентиров в принятии решений, которые Кант приписывает своим оппонентам. Обобщаются результаты исследований в данной области, проведённых В. Бушем, Г. Уильямсом, Г. Кавалларом, Б. Людвигом и Р. Брандтом. The starting point of my study is Kant’s remark to the effect that Garve in his treatise on the c... more The starting point of my study is Kant’s remark to the effect that Garve in his treatise on the connection between morality and politics presents arguments in defence of unjust principles. Recognition of these principles is, according to Kant, an inadvisable concession to those who are inclined to abuse it. I interpret this judgement by making a detailed comparison of the texts of the two treatises. I demonstrate that Garve’s work is an eclectic attempt to combine in one concept the lessons of historical experience with the ideas drawn from British empiricism and German rationalism. These ideas were criticised by Kant in his “critical” period. There is a consensus among researchers that Garve condoned the expansionist policy of Frederick II of Prussia, totally denied that legality in international relations was possible and in general deserved the reputation of an (ultra-)conservative. Сопоставляются различные интерпретации принципов российскими и зарубежными исследователями. Затрагиваются вопросы о том, какой тип «публики» подразумевается в данных принципах, целесообразны ли принципы как априорные критерии выбора максим, насколько они эффективны как эмпирические критерии определения правомерности и насколько обоснована применяемая к ним характеристика «трансцендентальные». Рассуждения Канта на тему политической публичности, являющие сложную историю и представленные в целом ряде сочинений и лекций, приводят нас в область эмпирических практик и антропологических наблюдений, которые, будучи собраны вместе, грозят нарушить требуемую чистоту формы. На поверку они оказываются либо поводами для поиска трансцендентальных принципов, либо примерами, ориентированными на определенный тип читателей и политических субъектов. Но определение места принципов публичности в Кантовой системе права, их строгое позиционирование — также непростая задача, которая добавляет новые вопросы об их допустимом и желательном применении. Явным образом принципы изложены в трактате о вечном мире, однако мы

The first part of the article describes general development of Kant studies in Königsberg as a lo... more The first part of the article describes general development of Kant studies in Königsberg as a local movement (not a school) with some special traits, which has significantly contributed to the culture of the town. Core activities were formed by the Society of Kant’s Friends, as well as by archival studies, i. e. collecting, annotating and publishing Kant’s manuscripts, correspondence, and lecture notes. In view of primary and secondary sources we would suggest to structure this movement in four lines: popularization; biographical research; collection and publication of manuscripts, letters
and lecture notes; interpretation and reception of Kant's ideas. A more detailed description is given for the first line — an activity of persons of different occupations, which was more or less popularizing. It began during Kant’s lifetime and concluded with the last echoes of Königsberg culture while the town was no more part of Germany. It was an important part of the whole philosophical culture of East Prussia, and, in some sense, even a factor of self-identification. This process, with a large variety of tasks and solutions in its interlacing and intermittent threads, has played an important role at the beginnings and evelopment of other lines of the local Kant studies. Successes and failures are shown not only in our description, but also lively and emotional from the own standpoint of heroes of this history. Prospects for in-depth research are also outlined.
Die „Prinzipien des öffentlichen Rechts“, welche Kant im zweiten Teil des Anhangs zur Friedenssch... more Die „Prinzipien des öffentlichen Rechts“, welche Kant im zweiten Teil des Anhangs zur Friedensschrift darstellt, wurden sehr unterschiedlich interpretiert. Sind sie wirklich gleichzeitig ethisch und juridisch, a priori und empirisch? Warum „transzendental“ und wie wird es begründet? Was wird als „Publikum“ gemeint? Den Ort der Publizitätsprinzipien in Kants Rechtssystem zu bestimmen, ist keine leichte Aufgabe, die manch neue Frage bezüglich der zulässigen und gewünschten Anwendung jener Prinzipien stellt. Kants Überlegungen zur politischen Publizität folgen einem komplizierten Gang und sind in einer Reihe von Schriften und Vorlesungen dargestellt. Sie führen uns in den Bereich empirischer Praktiken und anthropologischer Beobachtungen. Diese aber erweisen sich entweder als Anlässe zur Suche nach solchen Prinzipien, oder als Beispiele der Anwendung der Rechtsprinzipien, die sich zugleich an einen bestimmten Kreis von Lesern richten. Dementsprechend folgen wir schließlich einer gemäßigten Interpretation und bringen die Publizitätsprinzipien als (meta-)Prinzipien der Rechtsschöpfung und der Rechtsanwendung in Einklang mit dem Kern der kantischen Rechtslehre und Tugendlehre.

Особенно драматичен центральный во многих отношениях текст «К вечному миру», нашпигованный яркими выражениями, которыми восхищались уже первые читатели. Диспутанты представлены как конкретными авторами, живыми или уже умершими современниками Канта (например, Гарве, Мендельсон, Фридрих Великий), так и собирательными образами, олицетворяющими целые сословия. Две главных стороны: сам Кант и любимые им философы (такие как Сен-Пьер и Руссо) выступают против «правительства» и «заправских юристов». Кантова философия права, стоящая, как считается, на метафизическом фундаменте, возведена с минимумом антропологических предпосылок, и в этом его заслуга. Но учение Канта о политике очень тесно связано с моральной антропологией, и в этом также его достоинство. Оправдываясь эмпирическими наблюдениями, политик нарушает нормы права. Тем самым он сознательно подчиняется тем же склонностям, которых опасается в народе. Философ, во многом соглашаясь с мрачными оценками человеческой природы, всё же стремится переубедить политика и вселить в него умеренный оптимизм. В статье проводится сбор, обобщение и систематизация представлений политиков и юристов о людях, о мире и политической деятельности. Согласно Кантовой философии права, модель идеального общества можно изобразить как механизм, но его же философия истории и политики решительно противятся этому и склоняют к органицизму. Методологической основой анализа аргументации служит «когнитивный подход» В. Брюшинкина. Показаны исторические и идейные источники тех ориентиров в принятии решений, которые Кант приписывает своим оппонентам. Обобщаются результаты исследований в данной области, проведённых В. Бушем, Г. Уильямсом, Г. Кавалларом, Б. Людвигом и Р. Брандтом.
