Maize is the most important and staple food in Kenya. The Kenya Maize varieties comprise of white semi-dent grains and have been bred and selected for a wide range of climatic conditions and altitudes above sea level. The Worldwide web has played a major role in the field of expert systems. A web technology allows the knowledge engineers and domain experts to build expert systems that will have dynamic knowledge base capabilities [Marwaha et al. 2002]. With the use of the internet Domain Experts can update the knowledge at a centralized location (Server) and the users can access this knowledge on Web user Interface (Client). The use of expert system as tool in agriculture sector in Kenya has not taken off. Expert systems use knowledge to solve problems that normally would require human intelligence. Expert system has a lot of benefits especially to farmers, farming officers and Agricultural institutions. In this paper the Information was gathered through questionnaire administration in selected areas of small and large scale farmers. The questionnaires were presented in such a way that it will provide the degree of usage of the web based expert system in maize production. The validation of the results were carried out using paired-t .This paper further shows the underutilization of web based expert systems in agricultural sector in kenya and Proactive methods should be devised to improve Maize production using expert systems, which will in turn improve productivity hence increase income to the farmer, reduce losses due to, poor choice of variety, diseases prevention and pests control.

Blockchain as technology promises to be a hugely disruptive and empowering technology both in public and private finance applications. As a method to order transactions in a distributed ledger, blockchains offer a record of consensus with a cryptographic audit trail that can be maintained and validated by multiple nodes. It lets contracting parties dynamically track assets and agreements using a common protocol, thus streamlining and even completely collapsing many in-house and thirdparty verification processes. Block chain originally conceived as the basis of cryptocurrencies, aspects of blockchain technology have far-reaching potential in finance. Although it promises a secure distributed framework to facilitate sharing, exchanging, and the integration of information across all users and third parties, it is important for stakeholders to analyze it in depth for its suitability in business applications. There is a wide spectrum of blockchain applications ranging from cryptocurrency, financial services, risk management among others, however there is no comprehensive survey on the blockchain as disruptive technology in finance and its application, To fill this gap, we conduct a comprehensive survey on the blockchain technology, its challenges, advances in managing these challenges and the future of block chain technology in the financial industry.

A MAC address, a physical network address that is used as basis for this study, has a copy of its value in the system software that can be spoofed and altered rendering the address not unique, not secure and unreliable. On the contrary, a computer’s serial number is hard-coded in the system hardware only and therefore cannot be spoofed and altered making it unique, secure and reliable. A Serial Number Based Authentication prototype (SNAP) was therefore designed using state chart and flow chart diagrams based on dynamic programming, developed over evolutionary prototyping and test run on a static experimental design using Java Development Kit and MySQL platforms to demonstrate, as proof of concept, that a computer's serial number can be used to authenticate a computer in a wireless local area network. From the test runs whose outcomes were the binary values yes or no, it was found out that SNAP can actually allow or deny, enable or disable a computer in a network based on the computer's serial number.
