Well. Seeing as how today marks my 6 month wedding anniversary, I thought it might be about time that I actually make the wedding post that people have been asking about.
I warn you, it might not make a lot of sense; I wrote it across three different days. I did break it up into three sections, just to make skimming easier. [3 parts = some great things about the wedding | setting the tone, or, why the fuck did you and copilot wait nearly ten years to get married? | the actual wedding]
Okay, how wrong is it that when we wrote our common vows tonight, they clocked in at 98 words, so I made copilot wait so I could fiddle with it and make it exactly 100 words?
*snicker*
Maybe I should start kaalee100? I had no idea that drabbles would also suffuse my wedding. ;)
So, sometimes? Wedding stuff -- while daunting and omg so MUCH to do -- can be a very joyous thing, I've found. Here's why:
★ I'm getting in touch with people that I haven't seen in years -- in some cases, people I haven't spoken to in years. It's just... like a reunion of so many people that I love! I can't wait to see everyone. ♥
★ My florist? omg, so funky and LOVES that I want bright colors and gerbera daisies. She said, "Oh, my god, I can't wait to do your wedding. It's going to be SO MUCH FUN!" And the adorable man that works with her said, (when he heard me talking about carrying orange gerbs in my bouquet with purple highlights): "I LOVE that you're not afraid of color. Baby, you're my kind of bride!" *beams*
★ The cake? Is going to be the best tasting thing EVER!
★ Oh! And?? A member of my family that is notorious for not going to ANYTHING is actually coming to the wedding AND her husband wants to come WITH HER! *gasp*
It's funny, I have a headache, I have to go to the eye doctor, and I'm female-crampy, but I can't stop smiling. I should do something else exciting today. Suggestions? Contrary to the number of exclamation points in this post, I'm not actually bouncing around the house like a mad woman or anything. I'm relatively calm. Just with a shit-eating grin. ;)
[also, someone sent me a gorgeous clover ♣ for luck. *squiiishes anonymous lovely* if you'd like to come forward publicly or privately, I'd love to write you a drabble or limerick. ♥]
a little peek into the strange world of kaalee/copilot:

kaalee: um. or we could do this one. either/or. copilot: yeah, definitely. kaalee/copilot: *snerk*
In other news...
*recites*
liquor, beer, never fear... beer, liquor, never sicker...
Excellent. I'm all good [and, whoa, drunk!]. Commence the spamming of kaalee's lj.
I feel sort of weird doing this, because I've been such a bad lj-friend recently and I haven't yet finished responding to all of your lovely comments to my last post, but I need a few other brains to help me out here, if possible.
copilot and I are headed up to Massachusetts in February to try to pick a place to get married. We want it to be in Massachusetts - somewhere around the Boston area, but it doesn't necessarily have to be too close.
A good friend already suggested the DeCordova Museum, which we're going to check out, and someone else mentioned a place in Salem.
I know that many of you live in MA, and many more are familiar with it. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas that you could throw our way? For those of you that are not familiar with the Boston area, ideas are still welcome!!
copilot isn't aware I'm doing this - and [hee!] when we sit down later this week to figure out where to call and visit and stuff, I want to be able to pull out a folder with a bunch of different suggestions/ideas that'll make him go, Whoa! What a brilliantly organized and fantastic woman!
Not that he doesn't already. ;) Okay, organized is not always a word that one associates with me - unless it's related to sharpies. *nod*
k, I'm off to work on report cards and such before my glorious students walk in.
So, Devon Murray updated his blog. He's so boring and ordinary, I love it. This makes me strangely happy. Though, it occurs to me that this might be why he doesn't hang out more with posh Alfie. *snerk*
One of these days, I'll post a real update, I promise. As for now, I'll tell you two amusing things. At dinner tonight, copilot and I were discussing random things and it was determined that it's okay to be a philanderer as long as you are up front with your partner about it, and that you have to be filthy stinking rich. This came up in a discussion of John F Kennedy. Who knows the tangents our conversations end up taking.
Also, a couple more people recently mentioned having a fannish hen party as a bridal shower before I get married. The more I think about this? The better idea I think it is!! w00t! Talking Seamus and Dean? Who could ask for anything more?!?
I keep thinking I should start making lists or planning or something, and I realized that I have NO IDEA what goes into planning a wedding. I don't even know where to start. I've never even thought about dresses or rings or colors or anything! I guess I have to turn in my *female* card now.
um. Think they have a Getting Married for Dummies book? I just may pop out to the bookstore after work today to see. :))
Also? copilot said we can't have little figures of Seamus and Dean on the top of our wedding cake. :( party pooper. Maybe I'll have a special seamus/dean party and make a cake with them on top. oooh, maybe for my birthday!
[I promise to make a post with substance one of these days!]
Hi there, my old friend! I think LJ notifications might go to my spam email, so I need to look into that. I came back here to look at some old classroom set up pictures (I'm co-writing a book so…
Girl. Every time I think I want to write again I pop out like 1000 words and then I am done for months. But I want to write again, man, do I. I miss fandom and the collective squeal when something…

I was talking with Tara (also annoyed Pea, bless) because I was trying to see if you were on any social media outside LJ.
... I ought to rewind, yes?
We did…
