We have something to tell you.

A little over five weeks ago, you got a call from the doctor, confirming that you had breast cancer. You shared this with a few of us and then shut off the computer so you could spend some time with your (amazing) husband.

For me, the news brought a mix of about twelve different emotions (three of them selfish), and the worst was feeling the crushing ineptitude of distance. I won't try to encompass everyone's reaction to your news, because I think everyone's reaction is individual, private, personal. But I will say that every single one of us was united about this:

You are not alone.

We bantered ideas around and within just a few hours a community was created, though the use of it was still nebulous. We came together, talking with people we'd known before and meeting some new people (please remember to ask shes_gone about the crazy insane dream I had about her before we even actually met) and we were united on the idea that we let you know how loved you truly are.

So, about a week later, you went public on your journal and we decided that it was time to open things up to the public. Secretly. Which is a bit of a difficulty, as I'm sure you can imagine. In fact, I'm still not sure I got my filter right. :P

We opened the community to membership by anyone that wanted to support you, and let me tell you, that there are amazing people in this world. People who don't know you personally, people who only know you through writing, or people that don't know you at all, all sorts of people joined this community. To support you.

We are fifty-eight strong and growing.

For better or for worse, you're stuck with us.

Because you are not, and will not be alone. Not through any moment of your fight or after.

And while Harry says it so eloquently (thank you, shocolate), we have the luxury of knowing you about 3948574 times better and we love you more.
