♥ Martin Freeman (and his wonderful, wonderful faaaaace) is in a movie coming out in June in the UK -- Swinging with the Finkels. [a couple married for 10 years thinks they ought to swing to keep things interesting] No idea when it comes out in the US, but the trailer makes it look like it might be fun. A little silly. But fun. Plus, in case you missed it before, Martin fucking Freeman. I say: Bring It On.
★ Benedict Cumberbatch (and his bloody cheekbones, oh my god) is in a movie being released in the UK in mid-May -- Third Star. [four friends take a journey to the Welsh coast. one is dying of cancer] Again, don't know about a US release yet, but I'll be waiting to find out. This will, of course, make me cry buckets, I'm sure. I was a little overwhelmed by the trailer, but I'm sort of starry-eyed at the idea of watching him on a really big screen.
And, now it's time to make a (third) cup of tea and listen to Cabin Pressure while I wash the dishes. :) Ahh, life of a teacher on vacation. Ex-ci-ting.
There was a Q&A after Frankenstein at the National Theatre tonight and cazbag posted a quick recap here. What a lovely opportunity. It definitely makes me wish I could live in London for a few years and just drown in theatre. ahhh, that would be lovely.
There's a little slideshow of about ten pictures here. I think my favorite is this one because both Ben and Johnny Lee Miller just look really beautifully human in it.
I'm also remembering that I never actually typed up my own reaction to/thoughts about Frankenstein after seeing it in London. copilot and incapricious and I are going to see a broadcast of it on Saturday night and I'm so looking forward to this version, because it's the one I didn't see when we were in London. We'll hopefully meet up with tjs_whatnot, venturous1, and spidermoth as well. ♥
Hopefully seeing it again will re-inspire me to write things down, at least for my own memory. It was an incredibly visceral experience for me, I'm sort of curious how I'll react on Saturday.
1. apparently I'm a dirty, dirty girl. 2. ahahaha [seriously, dying here] 3. I don't eat ham, but maybe I need to keep one in the kitchen from now on? 4. this song has been in my head for an hour now. help! 5. see #2
Spent it hanging with my Cumberbrunchers (minus two), drinking tea, and eating lots of delicious food. Tonight is a load of laundry and possibly some writing.
Also!!! Please, please, please do go read this GLORIOUS ficlet written for me by incapricious! On Friday night I was a rabbit of negative euphoria and so she wrote Martin/Arthur (from Cabin Pressure) kissing! It's glorious. And the link is here: The Most Embarrassing Thing. ♥
I hope you all had a good weekend -- how are you??
So, I got up this morning to exercise because I'm determined to make today about 3945794 times better than yesterday.
Continuing along that line, I think posting pictures/links to things that make me happy is a good place to start. Hence, this post.
In tumblr clicking yesterday, I found this post with pictures of Benedict and Martin as kids. Apparently misscake heard the wee noise I made when I saw it. [seriously, guys. Martin's faaaaaaace. He looks exactly the same. I really would like to know what he would have been like were he a first grader in my class. Probably a handful. My favorite.] [And why am I completely unsurprised that Ben has that gigantic, happy smile.] ♥
Benedict Cumberbatch is in a radio (comedy) program Cabin Pressure for BBC Radio 4. I just bought it from iTunes on Saturday and spent time listening to the first two episodes while cleaning the kitchen. It's absolutely hysterical. Each of the actors has a wonderful, expressive voice and I actually had to stop what I was doing several times because I was laughing so hard.
In other news, I'm writing Sherlock fic (for a prompt at the kink meme) and keep making typos when writing the word Sherlock. Current amusing ones: Sherlick, Wherlock, and my favorite: Shwerlock. Which sent me into fits of giggles for no apparent reason. Not really that funny. But apparently, for me? My typos are comedy gold.
I hope you've all had a lovely weekend! I'm off to do some laundry and make sure I know what I'm doing with my students tomorrow at school.
Of note: I was so excited to see it here that I walked into the kitchen, opened it, made some high noises, read the full article, and then realized I'd not yet taken off my coat or put down my bag...
❀ I have tea from AUSTRALIA!!! Thank you, thysanotus!! ♥ I cannot wait to try it. Seriously. mmm... tea.
❀ This coming weekend will be #4 in a row in which I get to see incapricious. I could really get used to this. ♥
❀ I'll be out of school tomorrow because I'm going to a teacher workshop (on what, I have no idea; I signed up months ago). We just received an email asking us to bring an object that describes us and we're going to share with the larger group. I'm really not sure what to bring -- perhaps my Sherlock dvd's? And talk about how much I fangirl Benedict Cumberbatch? And Martin Freeman's faaaaaaaaace? And that clearly John and Sherlock need: all kissing, all the time...
Or maybe I'll think of something else to bring.
❀ Oh guys, I am in this absolutely crazy, hyper mood! I was at work until after 7, and I have laundry and so much to do to get ready for tomorrow, for this weekend, for the consulting teacher job for which I'm applying, and I'm feeling slightly manic. But if I sit down, then I might crash. So! Must keep moving! [however, I would not be averse to having comments spammed with pictures of benedict or martin or colin or bradley or james blake or alfie. Or kissing limericks or drabbles. Or anything, really.]
I'm home. I'm elated and exhausted. The entire London trip from start to finish was completely surreal and wonderful and one of the best trips I've taken in my life. A big part of it was due to the amazing women I travelled with and the wonderful friends I got to meet up and hang out with. ♥
So, I really want to make posts about Benedict Cumberbatch in Frankenstein and Colin Morgan in Our Private Life, but I'm worried that I'll either: a) dissolve into emotion and not properly express how each show (and each actor) was so truly moving... and disturbing or b) try to start writing it, but get stuck on including every detail and making sure I'm explaining myself completely and then end up not writing about either one. So, um... poke me about it if you're interested. Like Tuesday or Wednesday, just to make me get on with it. Please make me write them -- I know I'll want to look back on it.
My trip home was so much fun! incapricious and I were on the same flight, so we got seats together and spent the entire ride watching Sherlock and/or discussing John Watson in great detail. Now, of course, I want to finish doing laundry, rewatch an episode, and go to bed early.
Anyway, enough babbling. I missed you all, and I hope you had lovely, lovely days, and I want to hear everything.
By the way, did I mention Benedict Cumberbatch? Have I given any clue about my level of fangirlishness over him (which is sort of doing my head in, I must say). I JUST HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS!!
★ Theatre. Seriously. I would go see a stage show every weekend if I could. And watching both Colin Morgan and Benedict Cumberbatch on stage might just be the thing that makes my little theatre-fannish heart explode. ♥
★ Did I mention Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Morgan??? I don't know if I remembered to put them on this list at all...
I'm all checked in, 92% packed, and have nearly all of my Cumberbatches in order, but am currently fighting with my iPod. My computer is just not recognizing it. And while I know I can listen to music on my phone, I'd been hoping to watch a bit of Merlin and/or Sherlock on the plane. Alas.
Hi there, my old friend! I think LJ notifications might go to my spam email, so I need to look into that. I came back here to look at some old classroom set up pictures (I'm co-writing a book so…
Girl. Every time I think I want to write again I pop out like 1000 words and then I am done for months. But I want to write again, man, do I. I miss fandom and the collective squeal when something…

I was talking with Tara (also annoyed Pea, bless) because I was trying to see if you were on any social media outside LJ.
