Our Children’s Summer Reading Program is over!

Adult Programs
Mini Psychic Fair!
Saturday, August 22, 2026 – 1:00PM to 4:00PM
All ages welcome, but recommended for ages 12 and up
This is a special “Just for Fun” event! So, DON’T make any life-altering decisions, but DO have fun!
Six psychics will be on hand to give you personalized readings:

Sign-up for the readers will be first come, first served on the day of the event. Each reader will have 12 time slots available and readings are limited to 15 minutes each. You may sign up for as many readers as you would like, but please be sure to attend every session you schedule.
This is a FREE event, but tips for the readers are appreciated.

Thursday, August 13, 2026 – 6:30PM
For all adults. Especially useful for home and small business owners.
René Velazquez will show you how using A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) can help you in both business and your personal life. Leave with a better understanding of what benefits A.I. can bring you and what its limitations are. (Program approx. 60 minutes)

Halloween Project
Saturday, September 19, 2026 – 1:00PM
Ages 12 to adult
Design a Freaky Centerpiece Featuring Frankenstein or His Bride!
Pick your favorite of Dr. Frankenstein’s creations and then use your creative spirit to bring him or her to “life”. No castle, secret laboratory, or lightning needed! But you might want to bring a hot melt glue gun and glue sticks, if you have one. (It’s not fire, but it’s hot enough to make your monster behave while you work on your masterpiece.) It’s Igor’s day off, but Kathleen Obirek will help you design, complete, and (hopefully) tame your creation.
90-minute class – Limit of 12 participants

Mobile WiFi Hotspots available for check-out!
The Justice Public Library offers JeXtream RG2100 Mobile 5G WiFi hotspots for check-out. These hotspots provide an unlimited 5G data connection for up to 20 devices. (Must be age 18 or older and have a valid Justice Public Library card to check out a hotspot.)
The Justice Public Library now offers Explore More Illinois, a cultural pass program that provides discounts and other offerings from museums, historical societies, performing and visual arts centers, and other attractions across the state of Illinois. The program is free for adults 18 years and older who have a library card from a participating library. Offerings differ by attraction and include free or reduced admission, free parking, discounts at attraction shops, and more.
Explore More Illinois is available 24/7 from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. Visit the Explore More Login Portal here and login using a valid library card number and password to review and reserve offerings by attraction and specific dates.
Current attractions include the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (Springfield), Chicago Children’s Museum, and Discovery Center Museum (Rockford). Visit exploremoreillinois.org to see a complete list. New attractions are added on a regular basis so be sure to check back frequently.
