Bangladesh's economic growth is largely related to its export-oriented garment industry, which em... more Bangladesh's economic growth is largely related to its export-oriented garment industry, which employs a large, mostly female workforce. Despite considerable advances, the country's labor laws are still insufficient to protect workers' rights and provide good working conditions. This study critically examines Bangladesh's present labor laws, exposing their deficiencies in comparison to international labor norms. Key areas of weakness include limitations on freedom of association, poor workplace safety and health measures, and insufficient pay safeguards. These legislative flaws lead to common labor rights breaches, such as union suppression, unsafe workplaces, and wage exploitation. The article contends that Bangladesh needs urgent and comprehensive labor law reforms to promote social fairness and long-term prosperity.

The research examines the legal, socioeconomic, and institutional elements that lead to tax non-compliance, as well as the effects of globalisation and the digital economy on tax practices. Tax evasion, which refers to the unlawful act of intentionally avoiding payment of taxes owed, and tax avoidance, which is the legal manipulation of the tax system to reduce tax obligations, both have a detrimental impact on Bangladesh's ability to generate income and maintain economic justice. The study finds crucial factors such as the intricacy of the tax legislation, inadequate enforcement measures, corporate governance practices, economic motivations, and social perspectives on taxes. Furthermore, it emphasises the importance of global cooperation in tackling tax evasion across borders and the promise of technology improvements in enhancing tax administration and adherence. To effectively tackle tax evasion and avoidance, it is crucial to improve openness and accountability in public expenditure, streamline the tax system, and promote tax compliance via education and equitable policies. The study highlights the significance of employing a comprehensive strategy that encompasses legal changes, technology integration, and international collaboration in order to establish a tax system that is fair and efficient. This extensive inquiry into the processes of tax evasion and avoidance in Bangladesh not only enhances scholarly discussion but also provides pragmatic suggestions for policymakers. Bangladesh can enhance tax compliance, ensure fair tax distribution, and promote its developmental objectives by addressing the underlying reasons and utilising technology and international collaborations. The report highlights the importance of a collaborative endeavour including the government, the corporate sector, and the international community to address tax evasion and avoidance. This would enhance the country's fiscal structure and foster sustainable economic growth.
