Dr. Friday Oko ORJI is a renowned and passionate researcher and innovative educator whose works have been widely published on international, regional and domestic journals with remarkable presence Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Academia, ORCID, etc. He is the Chairman, Research and Curriculum Development at the MSME Institute of Management and Professional Studies (MIMPS) and Founder of EduNova Digest Services. He has taught Economics and Security Education at British Spring College, Awka from 2017 to 2020; served as a Research Assistant (Adhoc Staff) of Center for the Study of Economies of Africa (CSEA) between 2020 and 2022. In 2023, he briefly served as the Head of School at Purple Crest Schools, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
In 2000, he obtained First School Leaving Certificate from Etitiama Community Primary School, Nkporo. He got admitted into Hope Commercial/Computer Secondary School, Abuja where he won the Best Student in 2002.
In 2005, he obtained West African Examination Certificate (WAEC) from Central Secondary School, Idu, Abuja, Nigeria, during which he wrote and passed Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination. In 2008, he obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Anambra State where he studied Economics and Geography. Between 2007 and 2009, he booked a teaching appointment with Global International Secondary School, Onitsha where he taught Geography for 2 years on part-time. In 2010, he was appointed Geography teacher at Nwafor Orizu College of Education Demonstration Secondary School where he also served as Games master, Social Clubs Coordinator, and the School Disciplinarian. In 2011, he obtained Bachelor of Science in Economics and Education from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Due to his interest in ICT, he obtained AfriHUB Certified Oracle Database Administrator as well as UMITT in 2011.
In July 2011, he served as a Delegate to Nigerian International Tertiary Model of United Nations Conference held at International Conference Center, Abuja. During the conference, he was appointed the Rapporteur to the society's Commission on Sustainable Development, and was part of the Delegates to Swiss Embassy, Abuja. He is a core Fan of Arsenal Football Club, London; he has been serving as a Technical Adviser to a local Arsenal Fan Club-Arsenal FC, Nsugbe, Anambra State, Nigeria. In 2012, he was appointed as Oracle Database Instructor and Trainer at AfriHUB ICT Institute, UNIZIK Awka where he taught for 2 years. In 2013, he went in for the National Youth Service Corps which he successfully completed in 2014. In February 2014, he served as a Research Assistant and Data Analyst at Education Resource Center, Anambra State.
After a brief stay, he joined Consolidated Fortunes Limited where he served as Assistant Portal Administrator; was involved in the administration and management of Nwafor Orizu College of Education Website/portal. In July 2014, he enrolled into a Master Degree Programme at National Open University of Nigeria in the area of Educational Administration and Planning. In 2016, he was awarded Master of Education (M.Ed) by NOUN. He briefly served as a Market Developer at Intafact Beverages Ltd (A Subsidiary of SABMiller PLC) Niger Bridge Industrial Layout, Onitsha, Nigeria. As a member of Living Faith Church Inc a.k.a. Winners Chapel, he obtained Basic Certificate Course and Leadership Certificate Course from the Word of Faith Bible Institute, Onitsha in 2016.
He is highly skilled in managing Bullying, Child Neglect, Health/Safety, Child Protection & First Aid Essentials, especially for International Schools. He underwent effective trainings on the aforementioned critical areas of school administration with EduCare Learning Limited. He had his Ph.D in Economics of Education, Department of Educational Management and Policy, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in 2022. Economics of education is arguably one of the most under-explored and least popular branches
of Economics. The publicity and popularity of this new branch of economics is still
under-emphasized, as the public are curious but skeptical in venturing into this field of study.
This is partly due to common perception that the content and purpose of economics of
education do not qualify it as a body of knowledge. Based on the foregoing, the study examined
the challenges and prospects of studying economics of education, especially in Nigeria. It
revealed that economics of education applies economics and management principles, laws
and methods in analsying issues in education for the purpose of making rational decisions and
policies. The study, therefore, revealed some of the challenges of the economics of education
in Nigeria to include but not limited to shortage of education economists; dearth of relevant
teaching-learning resources; paucity and inadequacy of education indices; vague scope and
pedagogical content and inadequacy of public awareness on the subject matter. It also points
out that this area of specialization, provides, among other things, opportunities for lectureship,
