2年, 9ヶ月 - The Boy and The Heron is a Studio Ghibli production animated feature written and directed by the legendary Studio Ghibli co-founder Hayao Miyazaki, his first feature film in 10 years. The Boy and The Heron tells the tale of a young boy named Mahito who longs for his mother enabling him to embark into the world now shared by both the living and the dead. This semi-autobiographical fantasy centers around themes of life, death, creation, and an emotional tribute to friendship from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki. The Boy and The Heron is written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by co-founder Toshio Suzuki. The musical score is composed by Joe Hisaishi and North American distribution of the film will be handled by GKIDS. The Boy and The Heron releases in theaters on December 8 available in IMAX.
