SPX was amazing this year, as ever. Good friends, grand comics, and a great amount of booze!

I haven't been posting here but I do continue to read and follow everyone who does. I haven't been putting a lot of stuff up as I've been busy! I've been: getting into grad school (SUCCESS! PURSUIT OF ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT) and working (DOLLAH DOLLAH BILLZ Y'ALL) and playing in bands (TOOT TOOT) and then doing grad school homework (AW YES SO INTO DRAWING ON THIS PAPERRRR GOTTA DRAW ALL THESE THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE) and writing my graphic novel ideas down (TYPE TYPE TYPE BITCHES AWW YAH). Be assured that when I start posting comics again they will appear here on LJ in some effect.

So yeah, I've started taking my grad school classes online while I'm still here in Philly, and then in January I will probably be moving all the way accross the country to San Francisco, CA (so far away!) to go to school at the Academy of Art University for my Masters in Illustration!

ANYWAY

I realized some people might be coming here by way of my comics or links so here's some updated contact info!

Apparently today is DRAW YOSELF DAY on Tumblr. Yes, I have a tumblr, no that does not mean I will stop posting here. I love LJ! I just know some people who are moving exclusively to Tumblr, so I'll just follow them on there and cross post stuff.

In other news, I am working on my first real webcomic! The drawing side of things is coming along alright, and I am enlisting the help of my friend to help me build a decent site for it to happen on. So, yeah look for that in the very near future.

It was another uneventful but fun year. It was interesting to find ways around spending a lot of time drawing at work!

Hey folks!

As always I've been neglectful in my posts as of late. I've been working, applying to graduate programs, and most recently traveling through Thailand! I am in fact, right now, sitting in the airport in Bangkok getting ready to board a nine hour flight to Melbourne, Australia!

It's been a refreshing trip, and I am getting some great writing and sketching done along the way. Thailand is a beautiful and really interesting place and I'll be sure to write up more on it when I have a bit more of an opportunity.

If anyone in Melbourne or Auckland wants to chill, hit me up! I'll be in Melbourne for the next two days and then Auckland for a week or so starting the 27th. I'm definitely meeting up with Becky and Frank when I'm there. We totally ran into them on our way through LAX when they were headed back to NZ. We were even on the same flight from Philadelphia! Wild.

Hey everyone!

So I know I haven't posted in a while but there is some BUSINESS to take care of and I plan on taking care of it while definitely listening to the Bachman Turner Overdrive song "Taking Care Of Business". AW YEAH. (just imagine some awesome montage happening!)

So first off, Victor's Lament played with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. It was really. really. epic. I got some video of our set which I'll put up at some point soon! We are also releasing new songs soon and maybe even doing some more recording! We wont be playing shows again until the winter, but I'm really excited to get back together with these guys, because they're some of my best friends and we make some rad sounds!

Next up, my good buddy boxbrown is launching his brand new comic Everything Dies today and his old comic Bellen! is ending after a very long run. Box is one rad dude and was really influential in getting me into comics and was more than supportive for the ridiculousness that was The Adventures of Hardcore Dan, so I want everyone to give him some love in his new endeavors!

Lastly, I will be attending The Small Press Expo (SPX!) September 10th and 11th! I am really excited to get back to hanging out with my comics friends and it's even spurred me on working on these projects I've kind of put aside the last few months. I will definitely have one new mini and I am in crunch time to get a "preview" mini together for my "longer project" which I've been really quiet about (but which has generally been the reason I haven't posted new material online which should be changing VERY soon!)!!! I will be at table W-1 with the awesomeness that includes nedroidcomics Anthony Clark, passive_mission Jamie Baldwin, and dancingcomic Flynn Nicholls! We are right next to the door! Come say hi!

My younger brother, Alex, recently made this short film with some of his friends for some high school thing. I highly recommend it. Alex played Sheriff Bo Nanas and did all of the editing and special effects.
