Jonathan Wenger

I am a postdoctoral research scientist in Columbia University’s Department of Statistics and at the Zuckerman Institute working with John P. Cunningham.

I aim to develop deep learning systems that are resource-efficient and generalize robustly to new contexts, rather than failing unexpectedly. My research spans theoretical foundations of deep learning and large-scale probabilistic machine learning. Ultimately, my goal is to leverage such models to efficiently solve complex sequential decision-making problems central to scientific discovery.

I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Tübingen advised by Philipp Hennig and I was an IMPRS-IS fellow at the Max-Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems.
