As I realised some of you out there might be worried.
I'm nowhere near the awful bushfires (thank god) as I live in a different state. My only difficulties right now are a dead (computer) mouse and incredible heat, both of which are relatively minor in comparison.
But I just wanted to let you know that I'm fine, I have an old mouse that will sort of work until I can get a new one tomorrow, and the weather won't last forever.
Not very much to report. Am working my way through S2 of Torchwood. Absolutely adored 95% of Adam and thought the guy playing him was hot (and looked up IMDB and found I've also seen him in Blackpool and the Agatha Christie movie Burn Gorman was in). His name's a tad unfortunate, Bryan Dick but he might be cute enough to get past the name. He was also in Bleak House with Burn and Carey Mulligan and Gillian Anderson, which I think is enough reason to stop pussyfooting about and layby it.
Will likely do a much more detailed Torchwood post soon. When I find the energy to.
Also I have John Barrowman's autobiography. I'm alternating between giggling, squicked and facepalming through most of it. Though I haven't seen a reference to Thorsten Kaye just yet I'm sure it's in the 2/3 I haven't read yet. I didn't think it was even possible for me to be any more in love with John than I am already but apparently the possibility not only exists, it's only increasing my love.
Enrolling for new classes, not computer ones this year, with a different educational institution than TAFE, a local group training place. I'm doing aged care because I think it is something that could be useful in the future, and it gets me out of the house on days I'm not working. Hopefully it will also be interesting! So far it is but we're still in the enrolment stage, so...

Name a book you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does: Well not John's... *g* Cybill Disobedience, Cybill Shepherd's autobiography. I don't know if anyone else out there is a fan of hers. Not, I suppose, that you would need to be a fan to read someone's autobiography but one would think it more likely. Or perhaps that's just me.
Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that you think no-one else on your friendslist does: Eddie And The Cruisers. Which is a shame as it's a) one of the slashiest movies I've ever seen and b) one of the most interesting and watchable movies I've ever seen.
Name a place that you have visited that you think no-one else on your friendslist has: Uh. Well not Sydney. Nowra. It's where my brother lives.
Name a piece of technology or any sort of tool you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist has: Um I doubt there's anything.

I realised this about a week ago and have been trying to find the words. I think after that long, I'll just ramble and it'll work. Hopefully.
This winter, I had a few things happen in my offline life. I lost a very dear and close relative. I was sick twice and felt utterly horrible both times. Both these things did a number on my emotional stability and my ability to write, tag and talk on AIM.
I'm only now, in the past couple of weeks, coming out of that fully.
The only RP tags I really managed to get done in that time were ones I literally wrote on once every few days when I could gather the muses enough to write, and that was very rare. I have been a bit more active recently, catching up and starting new stuff, but that's only happened after the worst of it all was over.
I bailed out on a couple of challenges (not story exchanges so I didn't let anyone down without a story - I did write for a couple of exchanges though I'm not sure how well I did) because of this too.
I just wanted to formally apologise for how I've been and hope that I can do better now I'm past the emotional difficulties.
And thank you to all of you who have put up with me during this.
Eleven pm does not fall under the heading of not late. Ten pm - maybe even ten-thirty - might fall under that heading, or at least be an acceptable time, even if I am not feeling as good as I could be.
And cute little "jokes" about time only come off well if you look like Jack Harkness. Which, really, not even the local equivalent. Not unattractive just... not even close.
And my connection is in my bad books as well, because it not letting me on for an hour after I got home? Did. Not. Help.

If you have escaped my whining on AIM or google chat, consider yourself lucky, but I did just want to let anyone know who I didn't let know that way that for the last week or so, I've had the most awful tooth pain known to woman. It finally stopped last Friday (and yes, I'm on the about six week waiting list for the dentist still) and I've been catching up on sleep and tagging ever since. So if I've been off or out of it the last week or more, that's probably why, at least on top of everything else.
But everything is back to (relative) normal now (after a horrendously early work day, anyway).
It really is way, way too overdone. It feels like that was the only song they bothered to play on the radio. I get why, but still, even Perfect Day would've been a change. Sweet Jane is also great…
