*yawn*

Am currently almost 14 hours into 26 hours of sport at work. And I'm only the receptionist! Please wish me luck - I am hoping to slip in a nap somewhere along the way!

Break up on Friday and then my summer can begin! :D

Whoop!

MY ESSAY HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN
HANDED IN! OMG so so relieved to have gotten rid of it.

And to celebrate, I get to go to the dentist later, to make him fix the tooth he broke by putting a filling in it. Woe.

Also, had my staff review at work today. Turns out my boss is very pleased with my work still! Good to know that I am doing a good job :D

Oh, and my arm looks hideous thanks to my blood donation. Worth it though!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUU

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFU Hotmail. That is my password, ok? It's saved in my phone and in my messenger and I haven't changed it, and now because you freaked out, I can't get to any of my emails and have to prove to some random person that I am who I say I am before they let me back in. THIS IS NOT OK, AND IF I'M NOT BACK IN THERE TOMORROW I WILL BE PHONING MSN AND HAVING WORDS. FIRM ONES.

Lameness, since this is also my MA account and there is NO reason it should have stopped working. I'm trying to chalk it up to just one of those things, but as you can see, I'm still raging. But that really helped.

Other news: Back at work after Half Term. Spent the week doing MA work/in Lancs hanging out. Guess which one was more fun. Spent my day at work writing an MA essay as there was literally NOTHING to do. I'm still thinking this is the perfect job for me to be in while completing my course. And in three weeks I'll be finished with my first year of the MA which omg YAY. Bring on sunbathing and Sims 3.

Watched UP finally this weekend. I cried about 4 tmes, omg, damn you Pixar it's like you have burrowed right into my heart with your films. Amazing. I want a Doug of my own.

Anyway, off to bed now. Love you all <3

Apr. 1st, 2010

I have broken up for Easter, omg!! That means no more work for 2 whole weeks! This is making me feel very happy, as is the chocolate I'm eating (mini eggs are like my crack!) And ok, I have a couple of essays to plan, but that's not too bad. I basically know what I want to write about, and I'm looking forward to talking about them with my tutor... and as well as essay planning I get to visit my best pals down in London, and then spend a week in Lancaster with the boy, and see clo ! Which will be lots and lots of fun :D

In other news: I have managed to get a hold of ALL the songs from Glee! As in, 50 songs. I am so very happy about this. I have been listening to it every day, and although I am by no means a talented singer, I am enjoying this very much. MAYBE I COULD BE A STAR??

I have also got my hands on something I can put DS games onto, and then play them! So, I have the Easter holidays to play on my many new DS games! It's seriously going to be a gooooooooood time!

And this is all good to have, since Oldham is being very rainy and wet and miserable. So now I can stay inside and have fun :D (and yes, I realise how lame that sounds and yet? Not caring!). Maybe I'll even mange to get back into writing again - just sent off an assingment that has been taking up most of my writing time, so fingers crossed!

Hope you are all marvellously well, my darlings! Feel free to pass along some gossip my way <3

GLLLLEEEEEEEEEE now officially owns my soul.

Here's why...Collapse )

In other news:

I have started the Origins and Development Unit of my MA. Which means I'll be looking at lots of 'classics' and all that jazz. Here's hoping it's as interesting as my last unit! (For which I had to write an essay on Queer Theory and Harry Potter. Very interesting!!)

I am still working away, and no longer snowed in my house. I have also joined my gym, and started doing yoga, which I'm really really enjoying. It's calming and I can feel myself getting more flexible? (I want to be able to touch my toes one day! That's the dream!)

I am rewatching Star Trek and finding it to be so very cheap but entertaining. Spock remains my favourite, no surprise there!!

AND THAT'S IT! I will now stop boring you, and listen to some Mumford and Sons to send me to sleep :DDDDDDD

I am really actually employed!

So, I had my induction at work on thursday. It involved people giving me talks and lots of stuff to read, and then I got a staff badge! Then I went and did my first day at work - which was fun, actually. I had the morning receptionist with me all day, so got to know her, as well as all the teachers who hang around in between lessons. Got to meet them and learn how to do everything, and all in all it was a good day! I think I'll like it there :D

Then, I finished work at 6, came to my car... and found it with a puncture. Like, an uber dramatic one. So I phoned the RAC and settled in to wait for a rescue. Then, after like an hour, a random man offered to change my tire for me! Then he found my spare was flat, and took it to a service station to fill it and brought it back, then changed it all over! Thereby making me think that maybe nice people do exist after all!

Worked again yesterday, which was another good day, and am now having a relaxing day :D

Hope you are all well, I'm off to mess with the mp3 player I bought my dad for his birthday, lol! I wonder how long it's going to take to teach him to use it :DDDDD

Christmas-time

Merry Merry Christmas Day! Have just got back from work, where I doubled my wages in tips, and am so very ready for it to be Christmas day and have presents and just laze around and spend time with the fanily!

Happy holidays, whichever occasion you celebrate!

Lets paint the town RED!

Am waiting for my friend to arrive at my house so that we can go for a night on the town - it's been ages since I've been able to have a weekend night off to enjoy myself, rather than be forced to serve the whims and orders of the drunks. Oh, that reminds me. I know that it's obvious manners to say 'please' after a drink order - I say it, and am grateful to those people who come into the bar and don't just BARK orders at me, but still... a little part of me thinks, every single time, 'what, you think I'm going to say no? 'Cause I'd get kinda fired or something!' Heh, amuses me anyway, and at work it's important to keep your spirits up or you try to drown yourself in drip trays.

Went to see my best friend today - spent the day just lazing about eating junk food and watching Scrubs (OMG such love for that show, seriously.) Then he decided he wanted to sketch me - and not in the Jack/Rose Titanic way either, pervs. So I just sat there watching Scrubs whilst he spent about... an hour and some charcoal, and the end result was just... wow. I mean, no masterpiece, but for an hour? I thought it was really really good. I loved it. Why didn't he do art at uni last year, instead of wasting his time with that marine biology rubbish? He's a fool. But one that can draw! So I asked him to draw me a picture of me for my birthday, because I would love to get something that he put time and effort into that looked so pretty. Here's hoping he has the time! *crosses fingers and toes*

Oh yeah! On the bus on the way to his house there was this guy listening to his walkman very very loudly. And it reminded me of the time I was on the train coming back from seeing the Boy, and this guy behind me was listening to his mp3 player, or whatever, really loud. And the music was kinda meloncholy but nice, and it just made me feel as though I was in a film, like when you see the girl travelling all upset and alone and then the music plays in the background and it adds to the mood. And so I was leaning against the window, looking all droopy, and just imagining how the scene would look, and the music would play... a little bit sad, but it gave me something to do other than my dull required reading! Plus, my own theme tune! How very cool!

Dressing as a gypsy and then working behind a bar is not the best way to have a fun time. You'll probably just get your floaty top covered in alcohol and your hair scarf will annoy you. Oh, and your nail varnish will chip! And you'll miss out on the £50 for highest sales by £5, and so be called a loser!

Just so you know.

Another Day, Another Dime.

Work was alright today, despite the fact that more people didn't turn up than did, which understandably put a strain on all of us working. Which was not fun. But, it's over now and I am once day closer to stopping work and being back at Uni! Beautiful Uni, yay! Cannot wait to go back there and move into my new house!

On a completely unrelated note, I now have at least two chapters to post for my SoS date, with a week to get more done. I have (hopefully not misplaced) faith that I will be done! Here's hoping!

And, to finish of this entry... did you know there is no Welsh word for Blue?

Ha, well, this was pretty much the only fic I wrote all summer so I'm glad it was well received :D

You can find it here, on my writing journal. It has a few other Sherlock fics on it as well, if…

Aw, that's terrific. Instead of writing Sherlock fic this summer, I wrote a Sherlock recap instead. LOL! So it was all on your shoulders. Good job! Can you link me me up so I can go read it?

Glad you (and your friends) are safe! It must be terrifying for those who live in one of the rioting cities.:(
