I mean, I know capslock_atla is a bit of a cesspool where most of the members (or at least the ones I saw posting) are angry nerds who bash Bryke, Mai, Aang, the plot, season 3, Kataang, etc. but sometimes the posts will be worth responding to. Well, as winter break heads to a close, I am finally starting to go a little stir crazy. I've considered joining a forum or something because after blowing my gift card money on the Fruits Basket volumes 1-11 (not that I didn't want them...just, I didn't expect to spend over $70 at once...) I'm starting to think that I may have a problem. I mean, this isn't the first time I've blown money on stuff that could wait.
But yes, the Full Metal Alchemist reread was a success! I own all the currently released copies and caught up online with the rest! The story makes a lot more sense now.
Basically, I am very excited for the next 10 chapters. It's going to be awesome! I'm thinking a Claymore reread is in order next, while I'm waiting for the next Fruits Basket to come out. (They seem to have disappeared from the online manga sites that I frequent. D:)

My friend plays it and needed a sparring buddy, so he recruited me. Now, after 2 days, I CAN NOT STOP.
It's sad, this week was finals week and all I did was play online video games. (Level 2!!) What I like about it is that you can choose your characters and all are pretty powerful. Like, I go mainly with Tenten, Hinata, and Temari. Mainly because they all bring chakra to the table and specialize in multi-enemy attacks. Of course, in the manga they'd be beaten no problem against someone like Zabuza or one of the Sound 5, but because all the characters are set up to equalize each other (and the freaking chakra assignation is RANDOM) my three little girls can TAKE THOSE BULLIES DOWN.
Now, only is Kishi could write them like that. It makes me so mad to see such awesome minor characters wasted like that. The outrage is intense.

I've actually sat down and read all of Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. I tried to read Breaking Dawn but I only got to the end of part two before I gave up and just read the Cleolinda's summary. This isn't a review where I put much effort into because:
A) I didn't finish the whole thing and B) they sucked so badly. Whatevs. Everyone has wanked about these things for a month now.
Of course, I absolutely adored the parts of Breaking Dawn I did read. Because Smeyer was on some serious shit while writing that. Honestly, the \"demon baby from hell\" had me in tears. <\/em>The overdramatic scenes of her drinking blood, getting her ribs and pelvis <\/em>crushed, (I couldn't believe she was still walking around after her PELVIS got CRUSHED!) and Edward ripping the baby out with his teeth (!) not only made me laugh but wonder just how Smeyer's pregnancies went.
Anyway, I was really only reading those books for Jacob, because I have (had?) a thing for the only character in those rags that actually acted HUMAN. Of course, when he imprinted on Nessie, I may or may not have thrown up a bit in my mouth. The imprinting thing always made me look at it more tragic than OMH TRU LUV!!! 4EVA!!11 I like how Jacob tried so hard to fight it, then tried to use it ease his pain. The fact that he lost the eventual battle and imprinted anyway despite his burning desire NOT to hit me a little harder than the author inteded. It's like Jacob failed in his character arc. (I ignored the parts where Jacob \"realized\" that imprinting really was a \"beautiful\" and \"wonderful\" thing. BS, Smeyer. Jacob so was not like that. Also, sexual assault wut?)
Bella was disappointing as usual. I'm so glad we didn't have to read about her bitching and \"THE PAIN\" of Edward wanting to kill her demon baby because she was DYING and how she was in PAIN from the baby. What vexed me the most, from what I read, was that she got what she wanted. I mean, it's not like the other fans who are pissed because she didn't \"work\" for anything she got (newsflash, when has she ever worked? for anything?) but the fact that even when she suddenly decided she would wait a while (OMH SHE WOULD BE OOOOLD!!11) before she became a vampire and, ya know, got to college, she got to be a vampire early anyway because she was in MORTAL DANGER!! (*yawn*, when is Bella not<\/em> in mortal danger?) was kind of weird. Like, I just don't know how I should feel about that. You will always get what you want if it's right for you? If it's fate? Idk.
Finally, Edward still kind of scares me a bit. He just acts like an abusive boyfriend (removing the engine in her car?<\/em> Because she was going to see another guy<\/em>? Jellis much? Seriously, it kind of felt like \"If I can't have you, no one can!\" WTF?) I know he's not supposed to be written like that but I got that impression. (Just read Femicide<\/u>...sorry.)
And that pretty much sums up my thoughts on the only characters that actually get anything written about them. I have wonderful fan interpretations about all of the characters but Smeyer is dead set on making her characters as flat and dry as possible.
<\/span>I actually created this journal because I have a secret desire to rewrite those books as a Western AU. With Edward as a rich plantation owner\/cowboy\/foreigner (I haven't actually decided how he would work in the story), Jacob as a kick ass Indian, and Bella as the new sheriff\u2019s daughter. It would be one book, as there is really only enough plot for one book. However, I feel I would be changing the story too much and the mythology in them. Then I realized what crap Smeyer writes and realized I didn't care. My real problem is actually having to reread\/finish those books to get a grasp at the characters and remember what actually happened in each. Oh well. All I know is that it would be written as creepy and dark and as twisted as those books came across to me.
