I've been hearing people say that teaching small children that Santa is real is horrible because lying to children will destroy their trust in adults.

I can't for the life of me understand why half the American people are seriously going to vote for Mitt Romney.
Guy is the real life version of Mr. Burns!
For the love of God! Even if you don't like Obama, how can you vote for the guy who is so obviously evil he wouldn't be out of place among Captain Planet villains?

02:41 pm - I really, *really* want to write this particular fanfiction, but I keep getting writer's block...
I've been trying to write a fanfiction for 4 months now, and so far I've managed to write only 2400 words. Writer's block sucks, I keep staring at the blank page and struggling to come up with words and failing miserably.
The most annoying part is that I know exactly what is supposed to happen next, I've had the whole story in mind from the very beginning. I just can't put it in words.

So, those of you who have been reading my LJ for a while may remember that, when the TR reboot was announced with a teaser trailer, I was feeling extremely sceptical. I worried Lara would be the latest victim of the "from strong female hero to infantilized faux action girl" disease that has already struck Samus Aran and Aya Brea.
Turned out my worries were unfounded. The reboots is not as bad as I feared.

This is horrible, it's inexcusable, it's total and utter shit.
Silver lining: at least, miraculously, it seems that for once most Kotaku commenters can see the problem. There are still those who say "oh, don't be silly, this is perfectly fine!" but in general most people seem to realize that the reboot is fucked up.
Really, all old!Lara had sexualization-wise was huge boobs and shorts. This new Lara may have more realistic proportions, but she is much more objectified. And, y'know, I don't remember old!Lara ever being threatened with rape.

Well, so far this year's E3 has been incredibly underwhelming.
Ffs, the most interesting thing, the HD remake of Majora’s Mask, turned out to be a fan-made prank!
So far, the only things of interest to me in E3 have been:
- Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. Ok, this is a game I'm very excited about, but I already knew it was coming and I had already seen several new trailers plus a demo before this E3, so E3 didn't really add anything.
- The fake Majora’s Mask trailer. Very nice trailer, but it turned out to be a very elaborate prank by anonymous fans:

- Ni No Kuni is coming to the West. This would normally be something I'd be extremely excited about, but the game was announced a very long time ago and it was published a year and a half ago, so the excitement has kind of flopped. Still very good news, just... kind of late.
- The Agni's Philosophy video. It's very cool, but it's not even a real game, just a short video meant to show off pretty graphics.
- Resident Evil 6. I'm not a big fan of RE, but the trailer looked good, and Leon is pretty awesome.
Judging from the trailer and screenshots, the new Lara Croft game looks to me like an exploitative snuff movie, so I'm going to ignore it.
So. In short: no The Last Guardian, no Final Fantasy VS XIII, no Dragon Age III, no new Guilty Gear (the bazillionth re-release of XX doesn't count) or The King of Fighters, no new Ace Attorney, no new Broken Sword (despite the fact that BS5 was supposed to come out this year, but it appears to have been quietly canned), no new beat 'em up/platformer games, no new Valve games. All this E3 has given me so far have been extra trailers for games I was already very familiar with, a fake trailer for a cool remake that is not coming, a pretty video for a FF game that's not coming, and a new trailer for a game I'm only mildly interested in.
Meh.
