03:32 pm - Yes, women can be sexually frustarted by inability to get laid, too.
I hate it when guys get all "it's so easy for a woman to get laid, you just have to ask and any guy will immediately comply!"

But they conveninently leave out the part where guys are physically stronger and sex can be painful, and if you just invite some random guy over for sex how can you be sure he will be a good trustworthy guy who will treat you nicely? What if it starts hurting and you ask him to stop, and he refuses? What if you just want X and Y, but he decides that he also wants Z and forces it on you? What if you want to use a condom, but he refuses to wear it and decides that since you want to get laid that must mean that you want to get laid under any and all circumstances and forces himself on you? What if he takes naked pictures of you while you are sleeping and shows them off to his bros or even uploads them on the internet (yes, this happens)?

Even no-strings-attached casual sex requires a great deal of trust, it's not as simple as noticing a hot guy and asking him to fuck you.

And that's not even getting into the whole "men who sleep around are studs, women who sleep around are sluts" clusterfuck.

05:53 pm - And now comics
I don't normally like Superman. I wouldn't say that I dislike him, exactly, I'm just pretty much indifferent to him.

Nevertheless, the Superman: Secret Identity 4-issue mini is one of the best comics I've ever read.

Great writing. It starts slow IMO, since the story begins when he is a teenager and I don't really care about high school drama (a likely side effect of having grown watching a bazillion anime and live-action shows set in high school, I've grown sick and tired of the setting), but in the second issue he is already a grown man with very serious and interesting conflict, and it keeps getting better. The ending never fails to move me in the best possible way.

Gorgeous art. I had originally downloaded the scans because I wanted to make sure that I would like the story before buying it (the vast majority of ElseWorld comics can be accurately described as "it got worse," and I really don't like wasting money on depressing stories). Then I got the hardcover version with high-quality paper, and it looks so much better, it was amazing! Such pretty, pretty art!

Oh, and speaking of extremely pretty art, Batwoman: Elegy looks mind-blowingly beautiful. So, so, SO pretty!

02:23 pm - What's going on with LJ?
WTF is it with LJ? All of a sudden a bazillion ads everywhere. There were some ads before, but now my flist and even my entries page are chock full of them. What happened? Does anybody know?

07:20 pm - Oh, Solly XD

Good to see Miss Pauling is becoming a sort of SixthTenth Ranger, I like her :)

My only gripe is that the whole group was RED. Come on, the whole point of MvM is that RED and BLU join forces against the third heir! Sure the gameplay has them all RED so that the players don't get confused, but story-wise it's supposed to be both Teams.

08:02 pm - New Trailer for Superman: The Man of Steel

Hum...

The first minute and a half is annoying as eff. Yes, yes, young Clark is afraid of getting captured and experimented on by the government, that's a perfectly valid fear. But wangst is not fun to watch. Superman: Secret Identity (which is a really awesome comic, btw) also dealt with the fear of getting captured and dissected (with plenty of incredibly creepy scenes, as well as Clark's terror that his newborn children will be a target), and guess what? No wangst, only genuinely engaging drama with a focus on solving problems and doing it quickly.

However, I have got to admit, I do like the take-off scene. The second half of the trailer looks definitely much more interesting to me. Guess I'll go watch this after all.

07:28 pm - Holy shit, it's almost Christmas and I haven't even started looking for presents yet D:
I've been hearing people say that teaching small children that Santa is real is horrible because lying to children will destroy their trust in adults.

Right. Lying to children is horrible. 'Kay then, let's all be honest to children.

"Your drawing sucks, those look nothing like me and dad."
