308 points of Dwarf Warriors

Maybe not as good looking as the crossbowmen, but still happy with the final result :)

Next time, the last models painted to complete my second regiment of Dwarf Warriors.

Spearmen #23 and #24

Dwarf spearmen. Done. I've already whined a lot about this unit, incorporating models I don't like much (the range of spearmen being rather limited, I used all the dwarves I could find on eBay). Let's say I'm happy to conclude with these two guys.

The first one is a model sculpted by Colin Dixon (I believe). Strange proportions, but in the end, rather nice to paint. The second one is a Citadel imperial dwarf initialy armed with a hammer (lost in a previous conversion), and now holding a spear from a set of dwarf weapons (Hasslefree Miniatures).

Skaven on hold

Hmm... it seems that I have some difficulties to put aside my dwarf army. So, to reduce (a little) my pile of unpainted lead, I've decided to rework my previously completed regiments and paint additional models to get multiples of 12.

Let's start with this old Assassin Miniatures model (you can read his story on the blog of his creator, who, 20 years later, sculpted these amazing Renaissance dwarfs). Not my favorite, but I'm running out of spearmen.

And now, this dwarf warrior/crossbowman (haven't decided yet where to put him). Really nice sculpt (as often with the Perrys), I probably should have spent more time on the beard. Anyway.

Dwarf spearman #21

Small update with this 21st spearman. Not perfect but he's hidden in the last rank.

Dwarf spearman #20

YES! The last one! I've been trying for a long time to get this miniature on eBay. As you can see, I've finally bought one (at decent price), but the original spear was broken and I had to replace it. The spearhead could have been bigger, but the final look is correct I think.

Dwarf spearman #19

Not my favorite Marauder, the sculpting job in the back is a little bit weird.

And again, the white and black stripe scheme.

Dwarf spearman #18

A dwarf from the Citadel Imperial range. The usual white and black stripe scheme.

Dwarf spearman #17

Marauder Miniatures this time. Nothing to say except I should have glued the shield in a different way!

Dwarf spearman #16

It's been a long time since I've posted something here. I hope you'll enjoy my sixteenth spearman:

And the third rank is finally done:
