Nancy Ramage
I am an art historian trained as a classicist - having studied both Greek and Latin - but I moved sideways into art history with a specific interest in Etruscan and Greek pottery, and Roman sculpture. I taught courses in ancient art at Ithaca College and elsewhere, but also taught Egyptian art, Renaissance art, and courses in sculpture, the history of prints, etc. My more recent research centers on 18th century neoclassicism. I also researched and co-authored a book on the Cone sisters of Baltimore, who collected modern art in the early 20th c. and were friends of Picasso, Matisse, and Gertrude Stein.
