I finally was able to run this as a dinner party LARP and BOY HOWDY was it AMAZING!! We had 9 of us total and we did a potluck dinner, and then played the game!! I played the (narrative) role of the dowager but served mostly as facilitator / Herald of the court; an immortal character who, in the world, was serving their duty to uphold tradition and facilitate the Flower Court and ensure their legacy  

Game was INCREDIBLE and everyone had so much fun!!! Took us about 5 hours to play; we did 1.5 hours for session 0, character creation/worldbuilding, 1 hour for the opening round, and 30 minutes for the second two; the rest of the time was spent doing the whisper game rounds & the valentines/rejections/proposal/assassinations (I came up with a fun method for ‘intake’ on those, because I was serving as facilitator!!)

I’ve only ever (previously) played as a play by post over discord (taking several months to finish) but I knew deep in my soul this game was MEANT to be played as a LARP— and I am SO happy that came to fruition!!!

i am horrendous at these kind of combat games already so I think I 'lost' far quicker than what is normal haha-- even with the Hero learning our moveset 

an incredible concept that left me wanting SO MUCH MORE!!! I've only played through once and want to play again to see if there's different endings.  I want the Queen and the Hero to kiss.......blease

because I know this reads like satire but I literally did make the core game while asleep by dictating it and my friends who were awake were smart enough to write it down; and then I wrote the description while almost asleep by using a combination of typing and speech to text 🫣
