Reference Codes and Specifications Apart from this specification, construction of plain and reinforced concrete works shall be in accordance with the Indian Standard Code of Practice for "Plain and Reinforced Concrete” 18:456 and other relevant codes mentioned therein. For Liquid Retaining Structures EIL Specification No. 6-68-0005, shall hold good. For Structural Steel works EIL Specification No. 6-68-0006 & 0008, shall hold good. In case of conflict between the clauses mentioned in this specification and those in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), this specification shall govern. MATERIALS. Materials for concrete viz. cement,sand,coarse aggregate, water, etc. shall be as described in EIL Specification No.6-68-0002. Materials for all reinforcements, embedment, inserts, water bars etc. shall conform to EIL Specification 6-68-0002. Materials suggested to be used as additive to concrete shall conform to EIL specification 6-68-0002.
